Israel: Gaza Muslims Celebrate Suicide Bombing With Flowers And Candy

dimona.jpgYesterday, two suicide bombers tried to blow themselves up in a shopping center in Dimona, southern Israel. Only one managed to detonate his device. His accomplice was stunned in the explosion and lay on the ground, his suicide belt clearly visible. Medics scrambled to flee as news of the second suicide bomber His fingers fumbled to detonate the belt when police officer Kobi Morhad (Mor) moved in. He said: "The minute I saw him move his hand toward the belt, I fired and his hand fell. Two and a half minutes later he lifted his hand again, again toward the belt, and I knelt down and fired four bullets to the center of his head."

Hours after the attack, Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert said: "Monday's terror attack gives us a painful reminder that we must be vigilant and maintain our readiness in all areas." Ehud Barak, the defense minister, said: "If someone among us needed a greater understanding regarding the complexity of the situation we're in, unfortunately, he could have found it today in Dimona."

One Israeli civilian was killed and 38 others were wounded. The dead woman has been identified as Liuvov Razdolskiya. Her husband was with her, and was seriously injured. DNA samples were taken from the woman, and these later led to her identification. Her husband has wounds to his chest, abdomen and head and is on life support.

The attack yesterday was the first suicide bombing inside Israel since January 29 last year. Then, a suicide bomber from Gaza, Mohammed Siksik, had entered Israel from Egypt. He killed three people in Eilat on the Red Sea Coast.

It appears that the two suicide bombers who struck yesterday had similarly entered Egypt from Sinai, Egypt. In the Knesset, the breach at Rafah in the border wall dividing Gaza and Egypt was discussed. On January 23, Hamas had blown up sections of this wall, which led to thousands of Gazans going into Egypt and purchasing provisions, breaking the Israel-imposed embargo. It also created what Israeli intelligence officials call a "security crisis".

Industry, Trade, and Labor Minister Eli Yishai said: "The previous government's decision to abandon the Philadelphi Corridor without supervision was a bad mistake. The southern border of Israel is now porous and exposed."

Yishai mentioned the need for the erection of a security fence. Discussions for a 214 kilometer fence had been made three years ago, said Likud MK Yuval Steinitz. He said: "his government has created no effective terror policy, it has stupidly handed control of the Egypt-Gaza border into terrorist hands, and now it's surprised that rockets fall in Sderot and there are terror attacks in Dimona."

candy.jpgIn Gaza, reported YNET News, flowers and candy were handed out to residents. Drivers honked their horns. A Hamas spokesman claimed that the Dimona attack was "a natural reaction to months of killing" by Israeli forces. Ayman Taha said the attack was evidence that "Palestinians can respond to the enemy and their crimes". According to Canada's Leader-Post those who handed out candy and flowers to car drivers in the city of Rafah were young supporters of Fatah.

The Fatah-led Palestinian National AUthority condemned the Dimona attack in a statement to Wafa news agency. It claimed it "renews its firm position which condemns every operation that targets the civilians whether they were Palestinians or Israelis."

In the US, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino made a statement, in which she said: "The United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Dimona, Israel, today that killed one Israeli citizen and injured many others. We also condemn those terrorist groups, including Hamas, which condone these horrific actions. We call upon the leaders of the Palestinian Authority, who condemned this attack, to redouble their efforts to act against terrorism."

The two suicide bombers have been identified as 20-year old Loai al-Aghwani, 20, of Gaza City and Musa Arafat, 23, from the Gazan town of Khan Younis. These had made a video presentation before the attack. Aghwani was shown before a flag of the Fatah-associated al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, as he urged Fatah and Hamas to "end internal division". The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the Islamic Resistance Brigades have all claimed responsibility for the attack. This latter group is apparently linked to Jaysh al-Umma (Army of the Islamic Nation), an al Qaeda-inspired group based in Gaza.

Muslims Against Sharia condemn the murderers responsible for the homicide bombing in Dimona as well as degenerate perpetuation of the culture of death in Gaza.

Our prayers are with the victims of this atrocity. We send our condolences to their loved ones.

May the homicide bomber rot in hell for eternity. May his accomplices and animals who celebrated this horrendous act join him soon!

Muslims Against Sharia call on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to shut down Al-Hayat al-Jadida, Al-Iyam and Al-Quds as terrorist mouthpieces that glorify homicide bombings. Failing to do so will show that Palestinian Authority's quest for peace is nothing more than empty words.
