On Islamic Misogyny - Buried Alive?

Writing a century ago, the scholar, and former editor of Moslem World, Dr. Samuel Zwemer, turned a standard Muslim apologetic regarding Islam's treatment of women, on its head. Zwemer made this cogent observation which merits wide dissemination as we witness daily the bitter harvest of Islamic misogyny, across the globe, including within Muslim communities in the United States (see here, and here):

In Arabia before the advent of Islam it was customary to bury female infants alive. Muhammad improved on the barbaric method and discovered a way by which all females could be buried alive and live on - namely, the veil.
