Greece: Rocket Hits U.S. Embassy, No Injuries

The police, who doesn't know much yet, claims this is the act of a "far left domestic group", but as always the specter of the World's most peaceful religion looms: 'Home terrorists behind US Embassy blast'

ATHENS: An anti-tank shell was fired at the US Embassy early Friday, striking the front of the building but causing no injuries. A senior police official said the blast was an act of terrorism, raising fears of a resurgence of far-left Greek militant groups.

Greece's Public Order Minister Vyron Polydoras said that a homegrown group is "very likely" behind a rocket attack on the US Embassy early Friday.

"It is very likely that this is the work of a domestic group," Polydoras said. "We believe this effort to revive terrorism is deplorable and will not succeed."

The police cordoned off streets around the building after the explosion shortly before 6 am (0400 GMT). The shell struck the third floor -- narrowly missing the Embassy emblem -- and smashed glass in nearby buildings.[...]
