UK: Bishop Says Muslim Veils Should Be Outlawed
The Bishop of Rochester, the Right Reverend Michael Nazir-Ali, aged 57, was the youngest person in the world to become a bishop. He was only 35 when ordained. Brought up in Pakistan as a Catholic, Nazir-Ali became a convert to Protestantism aged 20.
Last month, he made forthright statements about the Muslim face-veil or niqab. He said: "I can see nothing in Islam that prescribes the wearing of a full-face veil. In the supermarket those at the cash tills need to be recognised. Teaching is another context in which society requires recognition and identification."
He also highlighted the way that Muslims have a dual perspective on life, alternating between their often fictitious claims of victimhood (which are as nothing compared to the treatment of non-Muslims in Muslim countries) and their attempts to have dominion over others.
He said then: "Their complaint often boils down to the position that it is always right to intervene when Muslims are victims, as in Bosnia or Kosovo, and always wrong when the Muslims are the oppressors or terrorists, as with the Taliban or in Iraq. Given the world view that has given rise to such grievances, there can never be sufficient appeasement and new demands will continue to be made."
Now, according to the Independent, the bishop has gone a step further, by saying that Muslim face-veils should be banned in public places.
He said: "Given that we are facing an unprecedented security situation, legislation needs to be introduced that allows officials to remove the veil." He said that at airports, ports, tube stations, train stations, the veil should not be worn. He said that in places of employment, employers should be able to demand the right that staff have uncovered faces.

I wish more of the political and religious elites had this guys courage. I wonder how long it will be until a "youth of non-western origin" kills him? Which is, of course, why too many of the elites fear speaking up themselves.
