Russia: Muslim Leader Claims United States Murdered Turkmen Leader
Geydar Dzhemal, the chairman of Russia's Islamic Committee, lashed out at the United States accusing it of murdering President-for-life Saparmurat Niyazov of Turkmenistan, whose death was announced on Dec. 21. Along with promoting his version of the Mohammadan cult, Niyazov turned Turkmenistan into one of the most brutal and reclusive police regimes in the world.
``I don't have the slightest doubt that [Niyazov] was murdered,'' said Dzhemal, reports Islam News, a Russian language Islamic news agency. As ``evidence'' Dzhemal offered Turkmenistan's reluctance to join the US in the fight against Islamic terror in Afghanistan. Hence, the Americans murdered Niyazov, claims Dzhemal.
``The US needs Turkmenistan to hit Iran from the air,'' added Dzhemal, who is one of Russia's most vociferous critics of the West, and who has called for an alliance between Islam and Russian Christian Orthodoxy against the West.
Mr Dzhemal probably can't be imagine how happy we'd all be if he is correct with these assertions.
