US: Governor Bush Criticizes Couple for Truth-Telling About Islam
The Republican Party of the United States is slowly waking up to the nature of Islam. Earlier this year, Reverend O'Neal Dozier was dumped from the Charlie Christ campaign for governor for daring to offer an accurate characterization of Islam. Now Tom and Mary Ann Hogan, whom the St. Petersbourt Times calls "the first couple of Hernando County's Republican Party", will be paying the price: Bush blasts couple's comments
Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday strongly condemned a Hernando County commissioner and his wife for calling Islam a "hateful, frightening religion.""There is no room for bigotry and hatred in the state of Florida," said Alia Faraj, Bush's communications director.
"The governor is extremely disappointed in their inappropriate comments."
Bush appointed Commissioner Tom Hogan Sr. in August. Hogan is a prominent Republican activist, co-founder of Hernando County's Republican Party, and a GOP state committee member for four decades.[...]
And, incidentally, there is nothing extraordinary about Governor Bush's "dissappointment" and "outrage." When your strategy for winning the worldwide war against Islam consist of praising your enemy's ideology to no end, you have no choice but to punish the truth-tellers in order to protect your beloved myth.

During the last campaign for President, Kerry was accused of "flipflopping". (I'm no fan of his) Not long ago George Bush used the word "Islamofascist" and was criticized and backed away from using this terminology. So Jeb's communications director is named Alia Faraj? Hmmm.
Guess it's more important to try and be popular then to state the truth and that goes also for the Bush brothers.

It is more than a little frustrating when politicians keep think they have to keep praising Islam in case they lose the support of 'mainstream' Muslims who might be offended. Would Jeb Bush feel more comfortable if people only criticised Islamism? Surely most Muslims would not be offended by an attack on people who look down on Muslims who just practice religious observance and have nothing to do with creating an Islamic world order?
