UK: Muslim Called For Beheading

On February 3 this year, a group of Muslims gathered outside the Danish Embassy in Sloane Square, Chelsea. They were there to protest against the illustrations of Mohammed which had first appeared in the Jyllands-Posten newspaper on September 30 last year.

Individuals, many with faces covered, screamed abuse and called for violence against those who insulted Islam. They bore placards emblazoned with the slogans: "Behead those who insult Islam", "Europe. Take some lessons from 9/11", "Europe you will pay. Demolition is on its way", "Europe you will pay. Your extermination is on its way," "Slay those who insult Islam," "Butcher those who insult Islam."

The demonstration had been organized by Anjem Choudary, a former lawyer who headed the since-banned group Al Ghurabaa, whose members had mostly belonged to Omar Bakri Mohammed's Islamist group Al Muhajiroun.

In July, Choudary was fined £500 ($921) for organizing an unauthorized demonstration, with £300 ($553) costs.

At the time of the February 3 protests, no arrests had been made. Though police issued photographs of three wanted individuals in April, who had been amongst only a handful of protesters who did not cover their faces, only four people were finally charged.

On June 22, it was formally announced that four individuals who had been arrested on March 15 were to face separate trials for threats they had made at the Danish Embassy.

Three individuals were summonsed to return to court, and given bail. One of the four, Abdul Muhid, who had tried to flee the country on May 4 with Anjem Choudary, both breaking their terms of bail, was denied bail.

On August 17 2005, Muhid, had been released from court after charges against him of inciting racial hatred were dropped. Then he had been reported by a concerned citizen for announcing at a stall in Walthamstow market that British troops in Iraq should be killed, and that homosexuals should be thrown from clifftops.

Muhid, who lives in Stoke Newington, north London, was also arrested in 2005 for being among a group of 50 men using megaphones to "berate passers-by" in Southall, which has a large Sikh and Punjabi community. A fight broke out when police tried to disperse the group. On July 13, 2005, Muhid was also arrested for violent disorder and assaulting a police officer in Chingford, north London. Charges again were dropped, for lack of evidence.

In June this year, Muhid denied two counts of soliciting the murder of those who insulted Islam which had been made at the Danish Embassy. Of the four who were given charges, he alone was refused bail, and was made to remain in Winchester prison where he is currently being held.

Umran Javed, 26, of Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham, denied soliciting murder and using threatening words or behaviour to stir up race hate. Abdul Rahman Saleem, 31, of Poplar, (aka Abu Yahya) denied one count of using words likely to stir up racial hatred. The other individual who was charged was 22-year old Mizanur Rahman. He had denied one count of soliciting the murder of those who insulted Islam, as well as US and UK servicemen and Danish, French and Spanish civilians, and denied a charge of using words likely to stir up racial hatred.

On Thursday, November 2, the trial of Mizanur Rahman commenced at the Old Bailey. 25 members of now-banned Al Ghurabaa and its partner the Saviour/Saved Sect, including Anjem Choudary, demonstrated outside the court. Abu Izzadeen, who had heckled the UK home secretary John Reid on Wednesday September 20, was also at the protest.

Four Muslims were arrested in violence which took place outside the Old Bailey. One protester had attacked a cameraman, and when police tried to arrest him, three others intervened. One policeman had been punched in the face and another had his helmet knocked off.

Today, the prosecutor at the trial, David Perry QC, described the speeches which Mizanur Rahman had made on February 3, state the Guardian, BBC, the Mirror and Reuters via Yahoo.

In his opening statements, Perry said: "I wish to make it clear that this case is not a trial of Muslims. Islam is not on trial. This case is not about Allah or the Prophet Muhammad. The defendant incited, solicited or encouraged killing."

Mr Perry described placards which had been carried by Rahman, which bore the slogans: "Behead those who insult Islam" and "Annihilate those who insult Islam". Perry said: "Annihilate and behead are ordinary English words with the ordinary English meaning of kill. The prosecution say the meaning of those words is clear and unambiguous. Ordinary English words with the ordinary English meaning to kill."

"What he said was this - 'Oh Allah, we want to see another 9/11 in Iraq, another 9/11 in Denmark, another 9/11 in Spain, in France, all over Europe. Oh Allah, destroy all of them, Amen'."

The prosecutor claimed the 23-year old web designer had said: "Bomb, bomb France. Bomb, bomb France. Nuke, nuke France. Nuke, nuke France." Rahman had also urged "indiscriminate killing" of British troops in Iraq, the prosecutor said.

Rahman's speech, made on a megaphone, had included the statements: "We don't want to see them in Baghdad or in Iraq any more. We want to see them coming home in body bags. We want to see their blood running in the streets of Baghdad and Fallujah."

"We want to see the Mujahideen shoot down their planes like the way they shoot down birds. We want to see their tanks burnt, just like we burn their flags."

"We want to see their freedoms destroyed. We want to see all of them removed from Muslim land. Oh, Allah don't leave any of them alive in Iraq, don't leave any of them alive in Afghanistan, don't leave any of them standing in France."

Perry told the court that a video of Rahman's speech would be played to the jury.

The trial will continue on Monday.

At the time of the February 3 protest, Al Ghurabaa had carried the following article on its website, which explains their "justification" for calling for the killing of those who offend Islamic sensibilities. Probably written by Anjem Choudary, the article remained on the website until Al Ghurabaa and the Saved/Saviour sect were officially banned in July.

Kill those who insult the Prophet Muhammad (saw)

The kuffar in their sustained crusade against Islam and Muslims have yet again displayed their hatred towards us this time by attacking the honour of our beloved Messenger Muhammad (saw). In September 2005 the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published 10 cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad (saw) which were later republished by a Norwegian paper Magazinet. Until now both governments have refused to denounce the drawings and to condemn the publication of them.

Denmark has a history of blasphemy against Islam, only in August did radio presenter Kaj Wilhelmsen say that all fanatical Muslims should be exterminated and the rest should be kicked out of Europe. Last year the queen of Denmark aired her disapproval of Islam and for those 'whom religion is their entire life'. Prior to this the Danish government issued the right to dismiss a Muslim woman from working in a supermarket for wearing the hijab. Furthermore Denmark is an ally of the war in .

Both governments claim that one of their underlying principles is the freedom of speech and that everyone is free to speak their mind and to voice their opinions openly. They claim that the publication of these cartoons is a mere expression of ones opinions falling within the framework of the law.....

...This should come as no surprise to the Muslims because this is the exact and true nature of the kuffar that Allah (swt) has informed us of in the Quran. The kuffar will never have respect for our deen, they will never honour it and will always seek to ridicule and disparage it. At every opportunity they will try to attack and belittle it whilst concealing the greater hatred they have for it in their hearts. This is also evident throughout the history of Islam where the kuffar carried out similar acts to try and defame Islam. Allah (swt) tells us that;

At the time of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) there were individuals like these who dishonoured and insulted him upon whom the Islamic judgement was executed. Such people were not tolerated in the past and throughout the history of Islam were dealt with according to the Shariah. Ka'ab ibn Ashraf was assassinated by Muhammad ibn Maslamah for harming the Messenger Muhammad (saw) by his words, Abu Raafi' was killed by Abu Ateeq as the Messenger ordered in the most evil of ways for swearing at the prophet, Khalid bin Sufyaan was killed by Abdullah bin Anees who cut off his head and brought it to the prophet for harming the Messenger Muhammad (saw) by his insults, Al-Asmaa bintu Marwaan was killed by Umayr bin Adi' al-Khatmi, a blind man, for writing poetry against the prophet and insulting him in it, Al-Aswad al-Ansi was killed by Fairuz al-Daylami and his family for insulting the Messenger Muhammad (saw) and claiming to be a prophet himself.

Shortly after these incidents the people began to realise that insulting the Messenger of Allah (saw) was not something to be taken lightly and that by doing so would mean that you would be killed for it, a concept that many have seem to forgotten .

The insulting of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) is something that the Muslims cannot and will not tolerate and the punishment in Islam for the one who does so is death. This is the sunnah of the prophet and the verdict of Islam upon such people, one that any Muslim is able execute. The response of the Muslims all over the world shows us the inability to deal with such people, the kuffar are attacking our Messenger and are allowed to get away with it whilst the Muslims have no power to do anything about it. The leaders of the Muslim world have no care for the deen of Islam as they are busy cementing their seats content with their power and wealth. Where are the Muhammad ibn Maslamah's of our ummah who will ?

But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and attack your religion with disapproval and criticism then fight (you) the leaders of disbelief - for surely their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may stop (evil actions). [9:12]
