Russia: Slain Russian Journalist Was Investigating Muslim Warlord
Fearless investigative Russian journalist, Anna Politkovskaya, was gunned down in the entrance to her Moscow apartment on Saturday.
That very week she was finishing an article on human rights abuses committed by forces loyal to the Chechen warlord, Ramzan Kadyrov, the prime minister of the Chechen Republic in Russia's south, reports AP.
According to her editor at Novaya Gazeta, one of Russia's last newspapers independent of the government, Politkovskaya, 48, had gathered witness accounts and photos of tortured bodies. The article was due for publication Monday.
``We never got the article, but she had evidence about these (abducted) people and there were photographs,'' Novaya Gazeta's deputy editor, Vitaly Yerushensky, told Ekho Moskvy radio.
In a recent radio interview, Politkovskaya said that she was a witness in a criminal case against the Moscow-backed Ramzan Kadyrov.
``These are cases of kidnappings, including one criminal case concerning an abduction personally involving Ramzan Kadyrov, a kidnapping of two people, whose photographs are now on my desk,'' she said in comments rebroadcast Sunday by Ekho Moskvy.
In the interview, Politkovskaya said that the victims, an ethnic Russian and a Chechen, were ``rounded up, kidnapped for a time and killed. Their bodies showed signs of serious torture,'' reports AP.

Once again the difference (if any) between organised crime and true muslims(ie those that practise jihad) becomes blurred.
You might ask just why good ethical muslims are so interested in money, but then , if you do, you have missed the main driving force of near 1400 years of islamic greed. Oh yes!! The eternal soul was nicely ensconced in islamic heaven but ohh!! the earthly delights of loot, rape and slaves. Muhammad was no fool: he always knew that heavenly rewards were not sufficient and hence personal greed was the main driving force behind almost all islamic expansion, not the state of their eternal souls. Ever wondered why islam failed to expand southwards in Africa after their success in North africa? Not hard to work that one out: no pacifist christian countries with large amounts of desirable(ie white) women and no real loot. Yes!! Religion is the excuse but earthly delights, money and power are what count.
The strange thing is how local organised crime groups allow muslims groups to just walk in and take over. By allowing this they are cutting their own throats.But then the presence of violence does not guaranntee intelligence.
