Italy: Rally For Iranian Women Victims Of Islamist "Justice"

We reported on October 2 on the plight of women in Iran, who are awaiting sentence of death. Several of these are scheduled to be stoned to death.

The punishment of stoning to death is enshrined in Sharia law, but it is barbaric. As we wrote earlier, stoning in Iran under its Penal Codes (Article 102) means that a woman will be buried up to her breasts in earth, (up to the waist if a man). Her head will be covered by a white sheet. The Penal Code, under Article 104, specifies that the stones used muct be of a certain size - not too small and not so large as to kill instantly. They must "not be large enough to kill the person by one or two strikes, nor should they be so small that they could not be defined as stones."

For a reminder of the barbarism of this Islamic "justice", a video of a stoning session can be found from Apostates of Islam, HERE. The video is very upsetting, and graphic in nature.

Tomorrow (October 5) there will be a demonstration in Rome. AKI states that the demonstration is being mounted by a radio program on the state run broadcasting service RAI.

The program is Zapping, on the first channel. Aldo Forbice is encouraging his listeners to assemble on Thursday evening in a torchlight procession. Dozens of Italian mayors, politicians, journalists and intellectuals are said to be planned to take part.

Amnesty International has been mounting a publicity campaign for at least eight women who are threatened with stoning or hanging. These women's trials leave much to be desired in justice, and this is for their judicial procedure and flimsy evidence of "crime", let alone the draconian sentencing.

There is an urgency to this - Kobra Rahamanpour is due to be hanged on October 12, a week hence.

More details can be found HERE on the website Eteraz.
