Islam: New Video Of 9/11 Terrorists
News from today's Sunday Times reveals that a previously unseen video has been uncovered by the newspaper. It features Osama bin Laden, Mohammed Atta (pictured) and Ziad Jarrah, pilot of Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania. Atta flew the American Airlines plane into the north tower of the World Trade Center.
The video contains some unique images - Mohammed Atta is shown in a training camp in Afghanistan, and there is film of him and Jarrah, smiling and chatting amiably. It is the first time any images have been found of the two together.
There is no sound on the video, but the images are clear. Atta reads his will to the camera, as does Jarrah. Mohammed was filmed on January 18, 2000. The plot to attack American targets was being hatched more than a year and a half before it was enacted.
Figures are identifiable in the segment which features Osama bin Laden, which was dated January 8, 2000. One of those in the crowd of 100 people being addressed by the al Qaeda leader is Ramzi Binalshibh. Another clearly identifiable figure is Nasir Ahmad Nasir al-Bandal, also known as Abu Jandal. Bin Laden's bodyguard, he carried a gun at all times with eight bullets loaded. Following his release from a prison in Yemen in 2003, he said: "I had my own gun, but there was also a special gun to be used if Sheikh Osama bin Laden was attacked and we were unable to save him, in which case I would have to kill him."
Jarrah, shown with Atta, had been ordered not to be seen with Atta while in Germany. There have been attempt made by lipreaders to ascertain the words spoken by the two.
The Sunday Times provides a detailed and lengthy explanation of the background and context of the video material HERE. The video, broken into five segments, can be found HERE.
