UK: Abu Hamza's Mosque In London Is Attacked
A Muslim website, Red Hot Curry claims that an attack which happened last week on a London mosque was connected with the Pope's Regensburg speech. Until the individuals who carried out the attack are caught, this comment is mere idle, and potentially dangerous speculation.
Mosques get attacked because of people's reactions to Islamic extremism or because of xenophobia. The former Finsbury Park Mosque has been renamed the North London Mosque, to rid itself of its negative associations with previous extremist preachers. Abu Hamza was jailed in February for incitement to murder, and his successor Abu Abdallah, is currently awaiting trial on terrorism charges.
The attack happened on Tuesday 19 September. Two windows were broken and an attempt to start a fire was made. Two men were seen committing the attack, but had disappeared by the time police arrived.
The pro-extremist group the Muslim Association for Britain (MAB) has tried to exploit the event as propaganda. Having linked the event with the Pope's speech, Harris Bokhari of MAB said the attack "smacks of extremism and is reminiscent of the infamous "wars of religion" that plagued Europe in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, now seen as the historical pinnacle of religious intolerance."
The attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and subsequent murders of civilians around the world, committed by MUSLIMS, are now the pinnacle of "religious intolerance", despite the lies of MAB.
Bokhari continued to milk his propaganda opportunity, saying: "he fact that the mosque is now managed by the mainstream Muslim community reflects the efforts on its part to combat its extreme elements, and is a change that should be welcomed and applauded as opposed to being subjected to hostility. In light of this crime coupled with atrocities currently taking place against Muslim innocents in other parts of the world, the Muslim Association of Britain are organising a 'Regional Day of Commemoration' in Manchester on Friday 22nd September."
Let us not forget that Mohammed Kassem Sawalha of MAB has been named in a US court as a former senior agent of Hamas, responsible for terrorist activities in the West Bank in the 1990s. MAB also has historical links with AL Qaeda, and the terror group Islamic Jihad. MAB was founded in 1997 by Kamal el-Helbawy, who was at the time the European spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood.
A BBC documentary exposes Sawalha's links with Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood. He organised the recent Islam Expo which invited extremists such as the head of the Pakistni Jamaat-e-Islami to talk at this venue. Another prominent member of MAB is Azzam al-Tamimi, who has said that he wants to be a suicide bomber against Israel.
MAB's celebration of Muslim victimhood, its 'Regional Day of Commemoration', would only gain any credibility if it also held a Regional Day of Commemoration' for the countless victims of Islamic terrorism and jihad.
