UK: Christian Coffins Should Be Aligned To Mecca
In one of the most outlandish examples of how Britain puts the sensitivities of its minority Muslim population before others, a multi-faith cemetery is ensuring that ALL graves are aligned towards Mecca (northeast), even though Christian graves are normally aligned to face east. The news comes from Nottingham Evening Post. Mecca is in a southeasterly direction, but Islamic belief maintains that the dead look over their shoulder towards Mecca.
We have had the lavatories realigned in Brixton prison in April, so that no convicts' rears or dangly bits, whatever their faith, do not point towards Mecca while they do their business, but the move to make all graves align towards Mecca is ridiculous.
If anyone chooses to buried in the usual Christian manner, they must make a special request for the coffins to be aligned according to their faith. If they do not make such a request then they will be buried aligned appropriately for Mecca. Nottingham is not made up of a majority of Muslims (yet), so such policies seem outrageous.
The High Wood Cemetery is at Low Wood Road, Bulwell, and it opened on July 3. It is Nottingham's first purpose-built cemetery for 80 years, and can accommodate 13,500 adult tombs within its 40 acres. It has cost local taxpayers £2.5 million ($4.8 million).
It has separate areas for people of varying faiths, but Nottingham City Council, in consultation with the city's Cemetery Consultative Committee, wanted an ordered and tidy appearance, so Christian customs have been sacrificed in favour of Muslim customs, even though only 15% of the graves are expected to be occupied by Muslims.
Steve Dowling, services director for the council's Environment and Public Protection department said: "In the first phase of development it has been agreed that the graves will face north east. For people of the Muslim faith this fits in with a religious requirement, but it will also ensure a tidy appearance for the site as a whole. Consultation with a wide variety of groups will continue as the cemetery evolves and there will be an opportunity to consider any suggestions and special wishes."
Burials which are aligned in an east-west direction will not incur extra fees, unless they take up more space or if they involve "extra maintenance", states Dowling. He said: "Anyone can be buried any way round they like, just as they always could be. We have offered to meet with representatives of the Diocese of Southwell and will work with them to accommodate their wishes."
Rachel Farmer, a spokeswoman for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, said: "Positioning all the graves in the direction of Mecca conflicts with the long-standing Christian burial tradition of graves facing towards the east. We believe the people of Nottingham should have the opportunity to follow the Christian burial traditions if they choose to and the Christian faith should not be discriminated against in this way."
"The 2001 census showed that more than 70% of the population consider themselves Christian. This new policy will limit the choice of the majority in relation to burials at this new cemetery. We totally support an inclusive policy for graveyards, which takes into account the religious traditions of all faiths, but this should not be done to the exclusion of another."

The very idea of aligning my head with Mecca makes me want to vomit.
What is wrong with the dhimmis in U.K.( my country of birth ) haven't they learned yet, that constantly appeasing these creatures who worship a false god and a false, murdering, paedophilic prophet only causes them to demand more,more, and more.
It is distressing that Western countries are allowing themselves to be subjugated

Evidently in the name of religious sensitivity, buried Christians and Jews and their families will be insulted in order to appease Muslims. One suspects this is so because neither Christians nor Jews will kill people and burn buildings at the merest provocation. Just in the past few days we have seen Muslims around the world protesting a presumed intimation by the Pope that Islam is a violent religion by destroying property and assaulting innocent people. These threats are intended to intimidate, for intimdation is a tactic used by violent people to get their way. Islam is a violent and expansionist religion that will not be appeased. Muslims would not be appeased as they conquered North Africa, much of the Iberian penninsula, Constantinople (turning the most beautiful cathedral in Christendom into a mosque), and as they pressed against Vienna. Bernard Lewis has pointed out that by the 10th century, Muslims had raided Christian settlements as far north as Iceland. We now let them create huge unassimilated communities in our major cities. What can we expect them to do other than what they are doing? Rather than seek rapprochement with this implacable enemy, we should stop deluding ourselves into thinking there are "moderate" Muslims with whom we can make common cause, and declare publicly that the scourge of Islam must be decisively and finally defeated.

Saudi petro money plays a key role in Britain,as well as in the Western world to bribe the media,government officials,and key public figures to switch over to the Islamic way. Who knows what made these The Notingham City Council to stoop so low to the Islamic way in a majority Christian country.
