UK: Muslim Women In Veils May Be Faking Their Driving Tests
Firstly, the notion that a woman wearing a nikab, (the veil covering the face) should be allowed to drive, when she can only see straight ahead through a narrow slit, seems wrong, and potentially dangerous. However, Britain's Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has a remit to "offer an excellent and fair service to all people regardless of gender, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation and age." And this must include Muslim women who would put their ostentatious and self-centered displays of piety before the considerations of road safety or the well-being of other drivers. When I had driving tests, I was forced to wear my eyeglasses, as not to do so would have limited my vision and would thereby have rendered my driving illegal.
But this is PC Britain we are talking about. Today's Daily Mail reports that Muslim women in nikabs who are taking their driving tests are now being forced to remove their veils briefly, to prove that they are who they claim to be. The veil is only to be removed in front of a female test examiner, and only in a private room, with a female interpreter or chaperone present.
The reason is that these women who show off their piety may not be the paragons of virtue that they advertise themselves to be. Figures on Muslim women defrauding the DSA by substituting an experienced driver in their stead to take the test are unavailable, as the ethnicity of these fraudsters is not recorded. However, at least 250 people this year have been investigated for sending someone else to pass the test for them. Last year there were 260 people investigated for impersonating others.
Now, the DSA has placed posters in test centers in areas with Muslim communities, featuring photographs of two women wearing the nikab. The text on the posters, in Arabic and English, says: "Dear customers, Did you know you can ask a chaperone to escort you on your driving test?"
"Anyone aged 16 or over can go with you but they must not speak during the test. Alternatively you can bring an interpreter, who is over 16 and not your driving instructor. The interpreter must only repeat the instructions given by the examiner."
"At the test centre, the examiner will need to check your identification against your photo card. To do this you will need to remove your nikab. Where possible this will be conducted in a private area and where possible by a female examiner."

If they can't speak English how can they read all the road safety signs?
Driving instructor: Take the next left please Ms Abdullah.
Translator: The filthy infidel request you take the next left.
Driving instructor: ahha, you seem to have missed the next left....better luck with the emergency stop eh?
