UK: Newspaper Columnist Condemns Islam
While the Muslim world, still ignorant of the actual words Pope Benedict XVI used in his Regensburg address, still whines, and churches are attacked by Islamist Palestianian fanatics, a British newspaper printed an article by Peter Hitchens, which exposed for the British public the hate and venom at the heart of the so-called "religion" of Islam. The Mail on Sunday did originally place the column on its website.
Normally, we respect the copyright of Western newspapers and their contributors, but under US and UK copyriight law, one is allowed to reproduce an article in its entirety, for the "purposes of review". And for this reason, we are putting Peter Hitchens' article here, so that I, and our commenters can subject it to review.
My own comments are that it is still "soft" on Islam, but for readers of British newspapers it is a vital first step. If Muslims can attack the Pope, and condemn him for expressing the tenets of his belief - that the violence of "jihad" is ungodly - then surely it is permissable for writers in the West to abandon their cowardice and call for truth to be heard.
For too long, as Hitchens states, "while our silly leaders bleat and panic about terror threats, a far greater menace to our free societies comes from the growing power of Islam in our midst." Our leaders are whores, selling themselves to potential Muslim voters, so their cowardice in dealing with the truth is to be expected.
But our media otlets, in the shape of organs such as the BBC still perpetuate the lie, first given currency by George W Bush as a matter of political diplomacy, that "Islam is a religion of peace." Islam is not, nor has it ever been, nor shall it be, a "religion of peace" unless the Koran is bowdlerised. There is no excuse for the BBC, in the name of "evenhandedness" to censor criticisms of Islam.
There is no need for writers and journalists, and worst still, their editors, to censor harsh commentary on Islam, for fear of offending. Or, more realistically, for fear. The West was a once-great autonomous civilisation, which would not allow itself to be dictated to by religious fanatics. But now, no-one stands up to be counted. No-one defends our culture. And by such silence these fools allow Islam to gain a partial victory. Islam is an ideology of hate, conquest and tyranny.
Right now, the Islamic leaders around the World are attacking the Pope and demanding that he apologise for stating the truth - that violent jihad is ungodly - and no-one, save Peter Hitchens, is standing up to demand that Islam apologise for its terrorism, its oppression of women, and its constant moaning about its own victimisation.
I am very glad that the Mail on Sunday printed the article in its published paper editions. It is a shame that Hitchens' article was removed from the website. Here it is anyway. Enjoy.....
IS THIS WHAT THEY MEAN BY 'MUSLIM TOLERANCE'?
LISTEN to this: 'Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate.'
Or then again, this: 'Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends.'
Then there is the instruction to fight against those who are not of the true faith 'until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued'.
All are direct quotations from the Koran, which Muslims believe to be the absolute word of Allah, and which cannot be altered.
If you seek even more ferocious attacks on Christianity and Judaism, you will find them in the Hadith, Islam's other great book of scripture.
Week after week in those lands where Muslims rule and Christians are a minority, the message pours out from the mosques: 'God did not have a son.'
All the central doctrines of the Christian faith are emphatically denied. Things are said about Jews and Christians, sometimes comparing them to pigs and monkeys, which would attract the attention of the Thought Police if they were uttered here.
Only recently an Afghan was threatened with death - the prescribed punishment under Sharia law - for converting from Islam to Christianity.
Christians in Pakistan live in constant fear of attacks on their churches and their homes, usually following false allegations that someone has burned a Koran.
Coptic Christians in Egypt suffer a similar misery. Christian Arabs who can afford to have been emigrating by the thousands to avoid increasing persecution by their Muslim neighbours.
FOR years Liberals in the West have spread the myth of 'Muslim tolerance'. It does not exist and never did. Where Islam rules, other faiths must cringe in humiliated subjection.
These are facts. Is it not astonishing that this militant, angry religion, whose name means not 'Peace' but 'Submission', whose whole existence is based on the denial and rejection of its rivals, dares to get into a self-righteous rage over an obscure quotation in a dull academic lecture by the head of the Roman Catholic Church?
In Islam it is still the year 1427. They have had no reformation. The more Islamic a state is, the more its women are shrouded and confined, the more its minorities are despised - and the more freedom of thought and speech are crushed.
And yet the deputy leader of Turkey's Islamist ruling party, Salih Kapusuz, attacks the Pope for having 'a dark mentality that comes from the darkness of the Middle Ages'.
If we bow to this manufactured, hypocritical fury, then we will already have lost one of the most important battles to face us.
While our silly leaders bleat and panic about terror threats, a far greater menace to our free societies comes from the growing power of Islam in our midst.
Much of that power results from the weak-kneed refusal of our own liberal elite to stand up for what is good about our Christian civilisation. Back the Pope.

I've been banned from the Guardian web pages three times. Not for using threats. Not for using particularly foul language. No - for stating the truth about Mohammed and Islam. For posting links where people could see and read for themselves the truth about Islam.
They don't, for some reason I can't fathom, WANT people to know. Why not? Can anyone tell me?
Are they just SCARED?

Why has the Mail removed Hitchen's article? First time they have ever done this.

"I've been banned from the Guardian web pages three times."
I'm envious! I've only been banned the once. Are you signed in under a new name now? (I'm 'FlackBrancis' btw) There's a corker up for discussion this morning by Madeleine 'Cry Baby' Bunting. Here's the subhead to her article: "The Pope's remarks about Islam show the Catholic church is failing - yet again - to deal with the challenge of modernity."
I have only now picked my jaw up off the floor...

Steven
Thanks for the info re. Madeleine. I posted a comment on Up Pompeii saying it was a shame she wasn't writing for them any more because I would have loved to see her contortions about the Popes speech and the Muslim reaction.
I shall shortly be along for a little read.
I'll be back in there with yet another name shortly, but for now, I've been letting it go, having generally given up on them (and I read the Guardian proper - bought and paid for - almost every day from early 1982 up until Summer just gone).
I did notice that "HeiGou" disappeared rather suddenly too. As did most of the others that were taking my line on Islam - I suppose it's a case of "Don't like the message ..."
It gets even better than that in my case: I've been back for a look, and not only have I been banned, but they have systematically gone through and deleted all my old comments too. So, in best of Stalinist traditions, I have become an Un-person". I consider that an honour.
When I get back in - I'm giving them a few weeks to forget about me, and I'm trying to find a suitable IP cloaking device - I'll find a way of letting you know who I am.
And I'm going to find a way to STUFF that Berchmanns.

Sir Henry!
Great CiF today - some buffoon (Jonathan Steele) is doing a great job of being an apologist for the Sudan govt. Of course...
And, naturally, there's another 'Pope is evil and backward and Islam is wonderful and foreword looking' article. Sometimes I think the Grauniad is published for a bet...
"And I'm going to find a way to STUFF that Berchmanns."
He stuffs himself every time he posts!
