Dubai: TV To Screen Muslim Bomber's Marriage To Heavenly Virgin

Today AKI reports that the Dubai-based pan-Arabic TV station al-Arabiya is currently screening a documentary series exploring the roots and expressions of Muslim terrorism.

Last Friday, the first episode discussed the social and religious backgrounds of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and the two leaders of Al Qaeda, Ayman al Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden. The show featured footage which had never been broadcast before.

Tomorrow, in an episode entitled "From Recruitment To Death", there will be an analysis of the means of recruitment, and the show will feature an interview with a former colleague of al-Zarqawi. This man set up a terror group in the 1990s in Jordan, and was in jail with Zarqawi. This individual will be explaining how he later repented and renounced the violence and murder of jihadism.

Though not mentioned by name, this man appears to be the Salafist Abu Muhammed al-Maqdisi, who "turned on" Zarqawi to his brand of extremist Islam while the pair were in Peshawar in Pakistan. In 1993 the two men returned to Jordan, to set up a jihadist camp, with the intention of overthrowing the Jordanian government. The attempt failed. Both were sentenced to five years' imprisonment, according to Loretta Napoleoni in her book Insurgent Iraq: Al-Zarqawi and the New Generation which we discussed last year.

More interesting, perhaps, is the featuring of rare footage of a bizarre ritual in which, on the eve of his "martyrdom", a suicide bomber becomes symbolically "married" to the virgin that is waiting for him in paradise. I assumed there are 72 virgins waiting, so this must be the most important of the virgins on offer in heaven.

The ceremony is called "The Martyr's Wedding" and is thought also to be a form of moral encouragement to induce others to similarly engage in acts of suicide-bombings.

Such a bizarre activity, if by itself it can be seen as an "encouragement", would suggest that young shaheeds are probably starved of real sex and accessible women, virgins or otherwise. If one can not have sex in this life, then it is attractive to murder innocent people, just to get laid? The Islamist mindset is warped beyond belief.

"The Martyr's wedding" is a cunning plot to attract would-be suicide bombers. Poor youths, who have no bride money to pay to get a wife in the Middle Eastern society for themselves are attracted into this trap in the hope of getting 64 virgins at least in the next world.
