UK: Two More Charged In Muslim Air Terror Plot
We reported on the plot, first announced on August 10 to blow up US-bound aircraft, which involved the arrests of more than 20 Muslims in Britain. The plan had been to smuggle liquid explosives onto the planes, where on board they were to be assembled into explosive devices. In all 25 people were arrested in connection with the plot, which also involved indivicuals in Pakistan. The plot had been known about for some time, and had been monitored by US, Pakistani and British intelligence. In Britain, the police codenamed the surveillance measures "Operation Overt".
Two more individuals appeared in court today, bringing the total of people charged in the case to seventeen. The people charged initially at Belgravia police station appeared at the City of Wesminster Magistrates Court today, state the BBC and the Mirror. They are named as Don Stewart Whyte, aged 21, of High Wycombe and Mohammed Usman Saddique, aged 24, from Walthamstow, east London.
These are the names of the 17 individuals so far charged, and the charges against them.
Donald Stewart White
From High Wycombe. Aged 21
Charged under Section 5 (1) of the Terrorism Act 2006. - "preparing to smuggle parts of improvised explosive devices on to aircraft and assemble and detonate them on board."
Also charged on three counts under the Firearms Act 1968, with possessing a pistol on August 9 (section 5 - 1 of this act), also a magazine clip with 10 rounds of ammunition and also a silencer, while not having a licence (section 1 -1 of the act).
Mohammed Uslam Saddique
From Walthamstow. Aged 24
Charged under Section 5 (1) of the Terrorism Act 2006. - "preparing to smuggle parts of improvised explosive devices on to aircraft and assemble and detonate them on board."
Ahmed Abdullah Ali
From Walthamstow. Aged 25
Charged under Section 1 (1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 - "conspired with other persons to murder other persons"

Charged under Section 58 (1) (b) of the Terrorism Act 2000 - "had in his possession a document or record, namely a book on improvised explosives devices, some suicide notes and wills with the identities of persons prepared to commit acts of terrorism and a map of Afghanistan containing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism."
Cossar Ali
From Walthamstow. Aged 23
Charged under Section 38B (1) (a) and (2) of the Terrorism Act 2000 - "had information which she knew or believed might be of material assistance in preventing the commission of another person namely, Ahmed Abdullah Ali aka Abdullah Ali Ahmed Khan (her husband), of an act of terrorism and failed to disclose it as soon as reasonably practicable."
Mehran Hussain
(brother of Nabeel Hussain)
Charged under Section 38B (1) (a) and (2) of the Terrorism Act 2000 - "had information which he knew or believed might be of material assistance in preventing the commission of another person namely, Nabeel Hussain, of an act of terrorism and failed to disclose it as soon as reasonably practicable."

From east London (E 14). Aged 24, brother of Nabeel Hussain
Charged under Section 38B (1) (a) and (2) of the Terrorism Act 2000 - "had information which he knew or believed might be of material assistance in preventing the commission of another person namely, Nabeel Hussain, of an act of terrorism and failed to disclose it as soon as reasonably practicable."
