US: Swimming Pool Policy Changed to Accommodate Muslim Mores

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Washtenaw County has changed its policy to accommodate Muslim women and girls who want to cover themselves fully while swimming in public pools.Jumanah Saadeh was on a seventh-grade class trip last summer to a public pool in Ypsilanti when she was admonished for violating swimsuit policies that prohibit street clothes.
The 14-year-old from Ann Arbor went into the pool wearing pants, a full-sleeve collared shirt and her Islamic headscarf, but was told to get out.[...]
