UK: Muslims Protest At "Jihadi" Videos Aimed At Them

Firstly, we do not condone any videos or messages which advocate the killing of any people, Muslim or non-Muslim. But we have been sickened, as have most sane people, by the jihadist videos showing innocent people being beheaded by Muslim fanatics. These videos are hardly ever condemned by mainstream Muslims, and usually are met with an excuse, such as "those people should not have been in a Muslim country".

So it is with great irony that that the Muslim community, finding that there are videos being circulated on the internet, in which non-Muslims are threatening to behead Muslims, are getting upset.

Let us not forget the protests against Danish cartoons of a dead "prophet", where British Muslims gathered in Sloane Square on February 3. To protest against pictures of this so-called prophet, Muslims held placards, stating "Behead those who insult Islam", "Europe. Take some lessons from 9/11", "Europe you will pay. Demolition is on its way", "Europe you will pay. Your extermination is on its way," "Slay those who insult Islam," "Butcher those who insult Islam." The organiser of the shameful event, Anjem Choudary received a trivial fine for this. He was fined £500 ($921) with £300 court costs ($553) on July 4.

To date, no-one has been convicted for holding up a placard calling for those who insult Islam to be beheaded, least of all the odious Anjem Choudary who organised the demonstration.

So pardon me for having absolutely no sympathy for the reactions of Muslims to videos, produced in Britain, which show non-Muslims telling Muslims to leave the country or be "beheaded".

The news is reported in today's Sunday Times, and is echoed in the Islamist news site Islam Online. Let us not forget that Islam Online's spiritual adviser is Yusuf al-Qaradawi of the Muslim Brotherhood, who has said he supports homosexuals being thrown off cliffs, and supports suicide bombing campaigns against innocent Israeli citizens.

The videos in question are being shown on YouTube, and though I have done extensive searches on the site, I have not been able to locate the videos. Along the way I have found several pro-jihadist videos by Muslims, and a few videos by non-Muslims which ridicule Islam. I also found some amusing videos of cats.

According to the Sunday Times, British men in balaclavas are shown wielding guns, knives and clubs, telling Muslims to leave the country. In one of these, a man with a Welsh accent and brandishing a knife says that Muslims who do not "go home" will be burned alive. He says: "I'll cut your head off," and says he has comrades with similar views around Britain.

He states: "We are going to rip the life out of you. I am going to tear your guts out. I'll cut your head off. You come over here, you bomb us, disgrace us, you spit on our heritage, you want the Union Jack banned, you want your own flag flying over parliament....it ain't gonna happen."

The videos have all been made since the arrests of August 10. In one video, a man with a London accent says: "I wish to know what we are going to do to fight the so-called religion of peace known as Islam.....It may be because you fear prison. Well, wake up. I am calling on England, Ulster, Scotland and Wales to stand and defend the island that we love."

Well, people seem to be getting angry. But these videos seem as nothing compared to the sermons which were preached by Abdullah al-Faisal or Abu Hamza for years, from British mosque pulpits, before the authorities somewhat reluctantly decided to prosecute.

What makes this story so ironic is the individual who is doing most of the complaining. The man quoted in the Sunday Times and by Islam Online is the head of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, Mahmoud Shadjareh. Shadjareh (pictured) tries to equate the videos, which were posted between August 11 and August 19, with a rise in attacks against Muslims. He says: "There is no question there has been an increase in attacks on mosques and Muslims." Perhaps the videos and the attacks are just symptoms of the general backlash which is now taking place amongst ordinary Britains, who have taken the news of the plot to blow up US-bound airplanes as a "last straw".

And we should not forget that the adviser to the 'moderate" sounding Islamic Human Rights Commission is the supporter of terrorism, Mohammad al-Massari. We detailed on July 26 our charge sheet against this Saudi dissident, who has been inciting others to terrorism via his website Tajdeed.net. IHRC has been actively campaigning against the UK's Terrorism Act 2006, claiming that it discriminates unfairly against Muslims.

And Mahmoud Shadjareh himself also supports acts of terrorism against innocent Israeli citizens. The Daily Mail and the Sun reported in July that Mahmoud Shadjareh has been urging Muslims to support Hezbollah in its efforts to overthrow the Israeli government. He was seen wrapped in a Hezbollah flag at a rally in Trafalgar Square last year. He called recently for Muslims to provide "financial, logistical and informational support" to the terrorist group.

And one thing the hypocritical Shadjareh does not seem to acknowledge is that recently in Britain there have been far more attacks against Jewish targets.

We do not condone videos which advocate violence against Muslims, but we condemn strongly any threats against members of a sovereign nation such as Israel to be attacked by terrorists such as Hezbollah. And we outright condemn supporters of terrorism, such as Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Mohammed al-Massari and Mahmoud Shadjareh as being as bad as the terrorists they eulogise.

If a few angry native Britons, fed up with seeing their country threatened by followers of an alien ideology, express their frustration with a few angry statements made on video, it is far less of a problem than the proponents of that alien ideology who genuinely do want to threaten and undermine our culture, democracy and way of life.
