US: Kentucky Hotel Sued Over Muslim Headscarf Ban

We have reported on countless European cases of Muslim women and girls, who choose to look like gloomy clones of Julie Andrews from the Sound of Music, taking their employers or schools to court. With no schadenfraude intended, it is now almost refreshing to know that in America's heartland, the miserable-looking Muslimahs are refusing to conform with standard dress codes. What was once Europe's headache is now, sadly, becoming the headache of America.

The news comes from Associated Press via WCPO.com. Four women are being represented by the US Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) in a lawsuit being aimed at the Marriott Louisville Downtown, which claims that the Louisville hotel unlawfully discriminated against the women.

The four women had applied for jobs carrying out housekeeping duties, and were sent to the hotel by an employment agency.

The women refused to take off their hijabs (Muslim headscarves) and were told they could not work while wearing them.

The senior attorney for EEOC, Kenneth W, Brown, states that this may be the first instance in Kentucky of an employment case involving Muslim women's hair covering.

He claims that an "EEOC investigation" found no reason why the women could not still work while hijabbed.

Perhaps in a hotel, the considerations of those who pay to be guests should be taken into account, as much as the supposed rights of militant Muslimahs. I for one, would find it disturbing to pay for a hotel room and then find someone looking like an evil nun, or a terrorist in drag, prowling around the corridors, armed with a vacuum cleaner.
