UK: Koran "Desecration" By Prison Warders

A report from yesterday's Sunday Mirror describes the "sick games" played by bored prison warders at Feltham Young Offenders Institution.

Two officers strapped copies of the Koran onto their feet and then used them as skis. They are also accused of using copies of the Koran in "discus" events in what has been described as "Muslim Olympics".

A fellow officer ratted on the pair, apparently shocked by their antics. The two have been suspended on full pay while the case is investigated. If the fun and games are proved to be true, then they could be sacked.

The Sunday Mirror gets all pious and sanctimonious, stating that their behaviour came after the Mubarek inquiry. This inquiry concerns a case where a young Muslim prisoner was placed in a cell with a violent racist psychopath called Robert Stewart, who slew Zahid Mubarek.

The Sunday Mirror's self-righteous and left-wing dhimmitude does not seem to acknowledge that the Mubarek tragedy happened in 2000 - six years ago. The report into the inquiry was only published recently after a ridiculously lengthy procedure, but has no bearing on the current goings-on at Feltham.

What the author of the Sunday Mirror article fails to mention is a report from November last year, in which it was revealed that recently, there have been cases of Muslims bullying non-Muslim inmates into forced conversions to Islam at Feltham.

Anne Owers, Chief Inspector of Prisons, said of Feltham: "Bullying was related to gangs and faith allegiances. There was ongoing concern among some staff that a small minority of young people were being coerced into joining the Muslim faith."

At that time, the governor of Feltham, Andrew Cross, said he was working with chaplains and imams to tackle the issues of forced conversion to Islam and (religious) extremism.

Andrew Cross said on Saturday night: "I personally see all new staff at Feltham and make it absolutely clear that racism, sexism, homophobia or any other discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated. I am currently looking into allegations that two prison officers behaved in a racist manner and I am awaiting the outcome of that investigation."

What is racist about abusing a book which is blatantly phobic about infidels? A book which advocates in Surah 9, verse 5: "Slay the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them." Or: "Strike off disbelievers heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes." - Surah 8, verse 12.

If the officers did their silly pranks in front of Muslim prisoners, their Koranic ridicule could be seen as provocative. But in a staff common room? A smack on the wrist may be appropriate.

Again, the Prison Service as a whole cannot differentiate between a race and a religion, as a spokesman said: "Two officers were suspended from Feltham prison for alleged racist behaviour. An investigation ordered by the governor is ongoing."

The Sunday Mirror seems to regard the homophobic, anti-semitic, anti-western, Hamas-supporting Muslim Council for Britain as an authority on such matters. The article states:

A spokesman for the Muslim Council of Great Britain said: "Placing the Koran under your feet is the ultimate insult. It is why when the statue of Saddam fell, people took off their shoes and hit it with the soles."

If a passage of the Koran is reproduced in a newspaper it is illegal under Islamic law to throw that newspaper away in case it becomes soiled.

I can think of one way of using the Koran which is a bit more offensive than putting one's feet on the damned thing. Unfortunately, the pages of most printed editions are not very absorbent.

IF it is illegal under Islamic law to throw away a newspaper which contains a passage from the Koran, then why not publish a passage from the Koran in a newspaper each day.

Muslims wouldn't be able to throw away the newspaper, and their homes would be full of newspapers that they wouldn't be able to throw out. theyuil n u a
