Norway: Mystery Of Muslim Prisoner's "Abduction"
A strange tale has emerged of a Muslim prisoner who was apparently abducted, while being given "compassionate leave" to visit his ailing mother. The incident occurred on Friday 7 July and was reported in Aftenposten. The prisoner was escorted by two prison guards to Oslo, where his sick mother lived. However, at Alnabru district, east Oslo, while the prisoner, his guards and family were in the living room of the family home, two men in masks and carrying firearms burst into the room, before 11 am. The two guards were threatened, then tied up and locked in a bathroom, with the prisoner's brother. Other family members were tied up. The masked men then made off with the prisoner.
Police at the time were not sure if the event was an abduction or an attempt to free the prisoner, who has since been revealed as 24-year old Mohammed Akbar (pictured). No-one was injured in the attack, and Oslo police said that a massive manhunt was underway, and that witnesses were being questioned, and forensics were studying the scene of the abduction.
Then, yesterday Atenposten reported that the prisoner's father and uncle had been arrested on Friday and were still in custody. On Friday, prosecutors requested that both men be held for four weeks in isolation. Neither the father nor uncle has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
The prisoner had been in contact with his defense lawyer on Saturday, 8 July, and said that he would get in touch with police. By Monday afternoon, he had not contacted any authorities.
Today, Aftenposten relates that the father and uncle of Mohammed Akbar have been released, due to insufficiently strong evidence being provided by the police to merit their continued detention.
So now, Mohammad Akbar is still on the run, and his relatives, who may or may not have helped him escape, are back at home. Police are unsure if the "kidnap" was a stage-managed escape bid, or a real abduction by Akbar's enemies.
Akbar still has not been in contact with the police.
Though not regarded as a particularly violent prisoner, Akbar nonetheless has an unsavoury record of previous violence. He was convicted for these, as well as making threats. He also had a previous record for a sexual offense committed on a fifteen year old girl.

Come on, of course it was a set-up. No police here in Dar ul Islam would have fallen for this since it is a typical tribal tactic - convince someone who holds power to show leniency or mercy and then cut his throat when he drops his guard. Tying up the family was just a part of the scam.
