UK: "Selected" British Muslims Might See Anti-Terror Intelligence

Voluntary dhimmitude in the U.K.: Police may let Muslims see terrorism intelligence

The police are considering a proposal to let selected British Muslims examine the intelligence used to mount anti-terrorism raids before they take place, the Guardian has learned.

The proposal will be considered as part of a review of the raid in Forest Gate, east London, a fortnight ago when 250 officers stormed a family house searching for a chemical weapon which was not found. One man was shot and police have apologised for the "hurt" caused by the raid which has further damaged strained relations with the local community. The review began this week and is expected to be completed before the end of the month.

While such a review after a controversial incident is standard, this one is unique because British Muslims are involved from the start.

A senior police source with knowledge of the issues involved said: "We are working on sharing more information with the community before, during and after events so they understand as much of the context as we can provide."

This is so stupid, so cowardly, so morally disgusting in so many levels it is hard to decide where to start. Let's try:

1. This proposal is born of the belief that British Muslims are victims of the "system", a false, vicious smear against the people of the United Kingdom.

2. Giving intelligence to "selected Muslims" beforehand endangers the raids in two ways: first, one of the "selected Muslims" might be a terrorist or a terrorist sympathizer himself, second, terrorist might be tipped off a raid is on the way if they are smart enough to keep an eye for when the intelligence is passed to said "selected Muslims."

3. This special privilege is given to the "Muslim community", precisely because of the propensity of Muslims to commit mass murder. This is a proposal born of cowardice.

4. This special privilege will not improve relations between the Police and the "Islamic community": it only exposes the Police as a timid, toothless organization, and it will engender contempt.

5. Providing intelligence to said "selected Muslims" will make gathering intelligence more difficult, because it increases the danger (or appears to increase the danger) to potential informants. Innocent citizens will suffer as a result.

To conclude, let's remember the following: abject cowardice is not a virtue, it is just abject cowardice. Wrapping it around the language of "community understanding" does not change the fact.
