Russia: Sex Slave Group Sent Girls to United Arab Emirates
A Moscow court today convicted Pavel Golenko to seven years in prison for human trafficking, reports Newsru. In early 2004, Golenko began exporting girls to the United Arab Emirates under the guise of having obtained for them well-paying and decent jobs. Upon landing in Dubai, however, the girls' passports were taken away and they were forced into prostitution.
Golenko was apprehended in December 2004, and his cohorts are still fugitives. The news report didn't provide details about who worked this criminal ring on the Arab side.
While sex slavery of girls from Eastern Europe to Western Europe is well developed, it is well documented and authorities are trying to combat it. But regarding Arab countries, little is known about the problem because officials there do not consider it a problem, and do little to fight it. According to Muslim law, the abuse of infidels is welcomed, so why would the exploitation, suffering and misery of European girls be of any concern to Arab authorities?
Also, the historical precedent is strong. From the 7th century up until the 18th century, Muslims often raided Christian lands throughout all of southern Europe and south Russia looking for slaves, especially young women.
