Vatican City: Australia's Cardinal Pell on Islam
In a recent interview with the Catholic magazine National Catholic Reporter Cardinal George Pell said a few things not approved by his moral betters at the Sydney Morning Herald: Pell steps up war of words on Islam
THE country's most influential Catholic has offended Islamic leaders for the second time in a month by declaring Islam more warlike than Christianity.Australia had not been much changed by the rising Islamic threat after September 11, 2001, the Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell, said. But this could change depending "on how many terrorist attacks" Islamic extremists could "bring off successfully".
"The million-dollar question" was whether intolerance was a modern distortion of Islam or arose out of internal logic.[...]
What Cardinal Pell considers "a million dollar question", of course, is not a question at all, but an established fact: Islam's 14th centuries of rape, murder and mayhem have been propelled by the words and actions of Islam's founder, Muhammad.
The irony in this is that Cardinal Pell still goes out of his way to give Islam and Muslims a way out. He doesn't worry enough about Muslim immigration and demographic trends that put the non-Islamic future of Europe in doubt.
