Saudi Arabia: Hatred and Violence Taught in the Schools
Freedom House, the U.S. Government funded think tank aimed at promoting democracy and human rights, has blasted Saudi Arabia for using school textbooks that inculcate Saudi children with hatred and intolerance.
While all of Islam is an inherently violent and totalitarian ideology, the Saudi strain of Wahhabism is considered the most virulent. The Koran, a 7th century book written by a deranged Arabian pedophile and warlord who considered himself a prophet, is the official constitution of Saudi Arabia. 15 of the 19 Muslim terrorists on September 11 were from Saudi Arabia.
Freedom House's report, titled ``Saudi Arabia's Curriculum of Intolerance,'' analyzed 12 textbooks used at Saudi schools on history, geography, ethics, and religion. The textbooks teach Saudi children to hate Jews and Christians, as well as Shiite Muslims, who are considered heretics.
"What is being taught today in Saudi public school textbooks about how Muslims should relate to other religious communities will poison the minds of a new generation of Saudis'' said Nina Shea, Director of the Center for Religious Freedom, a part of Freedom House, and principal author of the report.
According to Freedom House, Saudi schools:
1) Teach that ``Jews and the Christians are enemies of the [Muslim] believer'' and that "the clash'' between the two realms is perpetual;
2) Instruct students not to ``greet'' or ``befriend'' or "imitate'' or ``show loyalty to'' or ``be courteous to," or``respect'' non-believers;
3) Assert that the spread of Islam through jihad is a ``religious duty;''
4) Instruct that ``fighting between Muslims and Jew'' will continue until Judgment Day, and that the Muslims are promised victory over the Jews in the end;
5) Include a map of the Middle East that labels Israel within its pre-1967 borders as ``Palestine: occupied 1948''
These textbooks are used to educate 5 million children in 25,000 schools in Saudi Arabia, and are also used at hundreds of schools abroad that are financed by the Saudi government.
This week, Saudi Ambassador Prince Turki Al-Faisal fired off a lame defense in a press release on the Saudi embassy's web site: http://www.saudiembassy.net/
``The Saudi government has worked diligently during the last five years to overhaul its education system, which includes textbooks, teacher training, and the introduction of new teaching methods. To ensure optimal results, the planning, implementation and assessment of these changes are being conducted with assistance from consulting firms and national governmental and non-governmental educational institutes.''
Five years and no results? Well, what do we expect? As long as the Koran remains the basis of the Saudi regime, and as long as Islam remains the dominant ideology on the Arabian peninsula, Saudi children will continue to be brainwashed by the violent and intolerant ideas of the totalitarian Muslim cult.
