US: Pro-Islam Disinformation at the VOA

My question to the Voice of America, and to the U.S. government at large, is this; why do you think it is part of your mission to convince Americans Islam is a 'peaceful, wonderful, enriching' religion? I thought Americans were free individuals, capable of reaching their own conclusions without having to deal with government power--their own tax dollars--chastising them for their views. Because that's the only conclusion I can reach from a monstrousity such as this: Is Islam Misunderstood in America?

[...]American Muslim leaders blame the US news media for generating what Nihad Awad, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations calls "Islamophobia".

"The kind of coverage that the American audience has been receiving about Islam and Muslims leads one to just one conclusion, that Islam is bad and Muslims are violent," he said. "The media has failed to capture the reality of the Muslim world and only focused on the actions of the few."

One of the problems with the media's portrayal of Islam, experts say, is that violent acts committed by Islamic terrorists aligned with al-Qaida make the news far more often than the peaceful aspects of Islamic culture.[...]

What peaceful aspects? Bathing? Eating? Singing "I hate Israel" in Egyptian radio? (There is no violence involved in that, is it?) Listen, Islam can be 'peaceful', if you submit to its power. If we surrender to its demands, if we let Islam reign over us, there will be peace--the peace of the slave hut, the peace of the catacombs, but 'peace' nonetheless--at least until Muslims stop celebrating and start slaughtering each other. (A year or two after their victory, give or take.) But I am with Winston Churchill on this one: "Nothing is worse than war? Dishonour is worse than war. Slavery is worse than war." Our overlords at the VOA may think they can achieve peace by being servile to the enemy, but they are sadly mistaken. The liberty of their children is at stake, and they don't know their groveling places that liberty in danger.
