US: When 'Islamophobia' is Mere Reality

Perhaps there is a carbon monoxide leak somewhere in my house, because although I try to get mad at this ridiculous story, I just find it funny: 'Islam 100 times more likely to be associated with terrorism'

WASHINGTON: Reporters are 100 times more likely to associate Islam with terrorism or militancy than all other faiths combined, an article quoted a word search on news stories published in major newspapers over the past decade as concluding.

"Such lopsided portrayal is indicative of deep-seated misunderstandings about Islam, and sometimes just plain prejudice," said Parvez Ahmed, chairman of the board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in an article on Monday. "Surely, all terrorists are not Muslim. Neither are all Muslims terrorists."[...]

Oh, I don't know Mr. Ahmed; could Islam be associated with terrorism because:

A. Muslims disproportionally commit acts of terrorism around the world.

B. Islamic religious leaders consistently justify terrorism.

C. Islamic 'holy' texts justify things such as 'striking terror in the hearts of the unbelievers.'

Surely it has nothing to do with that Mr. Ahmed? Or else, where does this vaunted 'Islamophobia' comes from?
