Malaysia: Minister Blames Western Media For Islam's Poor Image
Associated Press via Jerusalem Post reports that Malaysia's information minister, Zainuddin Maidin (pictured) has launched a diatribe against the Western media.
He has blamed Western media for carrying out a campaign of demonisation of Islam and Muslims. He particularly cites the publication of cartoon images of the so-called prophet Mohammed, which were originally commissioned by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
At a seminar for journalists from Muslim countries, Zainuddin blamed the international press for misrepresenting Islamic beliefs and perpetuated the stereeotype of Muslims "as terrorists or religious extremists or even suicide bombers."
He continued: "There is no denying that there is an agenda to belittle Islam and Muslims among certain quarters in the West, using the media. Various tactics, including deception, are used in the onslaught against Muslims to work up their emotions, because these people know full well that Muslims would respond in agitation when their religion is attacked."
The minister urged Muslim journalists to cooperate to counter the spread of Islamophobia. This should be achieved, he said, by strengthening media outlets and giving accurate information about Islam to the international population.
There is really no need to comment here - other than that 4,836 attacks have happened so far, made by the "Religion of Peace" since September 11, 2001, and those numbers continue to rise every week.
And the suicide bombers ARE Muslims, and not Methodists or Buddhists. And the Koran was written by a paedophile and a mass-murderer. The MSM is far too apologetic to Islam, because of its violent approach, which is why we had to start this website, to help to expose the truths which the Western media would rather we did not discuss.
