This is exactly why, even though I have always hated the Chinese Communists, I have never loved Tenzin Giatso. Peace-worshipping is not a virtue, but a vice of the worse kind: it allows the peace worshiper to elevate his stature at the expense of those willing to defend themselves. It allows shameless liars and naked aggressors to gain the upper hand. Peace-worshipping compels you to turn your back on your own people. (If you are--say--the most recognizable Buddhist leader in the world, it compels you to forget the destruction of Buddhism in Northern India by the Islamic Horde.) The sooner this dummy (with all his boring prudishness about sexual matters) reincarnates the better. Hopefully he will come back as a door stop or a draught excluder. He would be far more useful.
The whole process of choosing a lama is bollocks anyway. Some one year old precocious brat selects a few old things, such as a previous lama's false teeth or smelly knickers, and hey presto, he's virtually worshipped for life, and told he's special.
End product - a dickhead such as this bozo. And I am saying this as someone who used to be Buddhist. I still am, but I follow the "Buddhism for Bastards" school of Buddhism now. And unlike his mate Richard Gere, I never shoved hamsters up my arse.
