US: Iranian Muslims Hack Into USS Alabama Website

I have a few questions for the Muslim hackers: How many Battleships have you built? For that matter, how many computers have you built, how many information systmes such as the Internet have you created? Your main talent is petty vandalism: Hackers Leave Muslim Threats On Battleship's Web Site

MOBILE -- The U.S.S. Alabama Web site was targeted by hackers over the weekend. The culprits claiming to be from Iran, somehow managed to deface the site's home page with a message warning of consequences if Muslims beliefs are not respected.

The unknown individuals also threatened to leave similar messages on other Web sites.

John Strope, whose Dogwood Productions company oversees Web sites, said dozens of other Web pages were also tampered with. He said all of them were filled with grammatical errors.

Strope doesn't think the incident is connected to the battleship's military history. He said it was "pure luck of the draw" that hackers were able to gain access.

It took only a few hours to restore the Web site to its normal look and none of its data was compromised. Strope said it may take some time to determine who was responsible.

Here is the website for the USS Alabama.
