Palestinian Abomination: Hamas to Bring Islamic "Purity"
I thought about including this in my previous article about bellydancing, but this deserves, in its own perverse way, its own entry: Belly dancing out, cinema in, says Hamas
Attallah Abu al-Sibbah is keen to demonstrate that Hamas is not the Taliban. As the new Palestinian culture minister, he will not be ordering the dynamiting of statues nor forbidding prayers to anyone but Allah. But there are limits -- and belly dancing is one of them."Bellydancing is naked women. This is not Islamic. The Egyptians come here and do it. And there are a lot of Russian belly dancers in Egypt and they come here too," said Sibbah (58) an Islamic scholar who joined the Cabinet of the Hamas government installed last week.
Notice who the sexual workers are. Russian women and "Egyptians" (most likely Copts). Because I seriously doubt they'll let a Muslim woman become a belly dancer.
"People do it indoors, in secret. There's lots of it," he said."If the phenomenon of belly dancing spreads our people might react against it by killing people. We don't want our people to become like the Taliban."
While foreign governments are exercised over Hamas's views on Israel, the Islamist party says its primary agenda is domestic reform. It was elected amid a backlash against corruption and maladministration, and is committed to cleaning up government.
Foreign governments are not exercised over Hamas's desire to destroy Israel: they are exercised Hamas is not pretending to be a "moderate partner in the search for peace", while working to destroy Israel anyway. Once Hamas learns how to lie better, it will be all fun and games, and dead Jews again.
Anyway, read the whole thing. As articles originally published in the al-Guardian Newspapers go, this one was not too bad.
