Western World: Abhorrent Belly Dancing Earns Islam Praise

In our reflexively appeasing, morally insecure cultures, some people never miss an opportunity to mislead about the nature of the enemy. Consider this article from The Brandon Sun: Women say 'feminine expression' at heart of Middle-Eastern dance

Bellydancing often conjures up images of exotic women performing for the pleasure of men, but Vickie Hanwell-McLean says that's a misconception.

Stop! Men pay to see these things; you mean it doesn't please them? This is an terrible start for the article, and it goes all downhill from here.

"It's about feminine expression," she said yesterday. "It's about appreciating your own body and what it can do."

Hanwell-McLean and the rest of her troupe performed a bellydance - or Middle-Eastern dance, as she prefers to call it - at The Town Centre yesterday to celebrate International Women's Day.

Oh, this is precious. This was a "Middle Eastern Dance" to celebrate International Women's Day. Historically, who performed these dances anyway? But wait, the article continues:

"I think dance is really freeing for women. And fun. And different. You don't see a lot of that in Brandon."

No, it is not about 'freeing' women: Historically, belly dancers were sexual slaves performing for their masters. Such reckless ignorance feeds the myth of a tolerant Islam, and saps the West's will to defend ourselves.
