UK: 7/7 Islamists Were "Demonstrators" Not "Terrorists" Says Professor
There is no fool like an academically-qualified fool. The man at left is Professor Ron Greaves of the University of Chester, who teaches in the department of theology and religious studies. According to today's Sunday Telegraph, Greaves has made an astounding claim, as he was preparing to deliver a lecture entitled "20 years of fieldwork: reflections on "reflexivity" in the study of British Muslims."
The claim made by Greaves is that the events on July 7 2005, in which four Muslims set off bombs on London Transport, killing 52 individuals and injured more than 700 were not acts of terrorism, but simply an example of Muslim protest in action. He has also said that to refer to the 7/7 attacks as terrorism would risk "demonising" the people involved.
Last week, he said: "I have included, rather controversially, the events in London as primarily an extreme form of demonstration and assess what these events actually mean in terms of their significance in the Muslim community. Terrorism is a political word which always seems to be used to demonise people."
He claims to have spent 20 yeas studying Muslim methods of protest, from the Salman Rushdie protests of 1989, where 30,000 Muslims protested in Hyde Park, and called for the author's death, through to the anti-war demonstrations more recently.
He claims that he has moved "from a position of academic neutrality to one of active engagement with the Muslim community." In other words, he has swallowed their bullshit, and now claims it is wholesome.
Greaves has written four books on religion and has been at the University of Chester for the past five years. The University was late in gaining its academic status as "university". Until only last year it was deemed to be only a college, and not educationally good enough to become a university. With people such as Greaves teaching there, perhaps this is understandable.
The 54-year old academic defended his position last night. Even the Hamas-supporting "Sir" Iqbal Sacranie has condemned the professor's statements. Andrew Dismore, Labour MP for Hendon, described Geaves's claims as "absolutely barking".
If fools like Ron Greaves are teaching young people that individuals who murder innocent civilians by blowing their bodies are apart are not terrorists but only people "making a protest", I fear for the future of Britain. This idiot has no place in an educational establishment, even in a third-rate establishment such as the University of Chester.

Salaam
For the last 50 years Muslim communities have been victim of Paki-bashing by the British society in every walk of life. The British Establishment did nothing to tackle this issue. Now the Muslim communitities are victim of terrorism by the British establishment. Thousands of Muslim youths are being searched in the streets and hundreds are behind the bars with out any tial.
The notion that British society is classless and racially and religiously tolerant is a fallacy. Migrant children are automatically associated with low achievement and educational failure.
