UK: Muslim Students Arrested On Suspicion Of Terror Links
The Yorkshire Post today reports that three students at Bradford University have been arrested by police, who are investigating terrorist attacks made outside the UK.
On February 27, an 18-year old youth gave himself up to police in London, and from information he gave, police from Terrorist Branch and West Yorkshire Constabulary arrested the three students on Thursday evening (March 02). The three, two aged 18 and one 19, were taken from a house they shared in Grove Terrace at the city centre. The three were driven to London, where last night they were undergoing questioning.
Apparently another three students from the university were also arrested, but were released without charge last night. The Yorkshire Post mentioned allegations that one those detained had purchased from the internet "specialist equipment" worth 10,000 pounds.
Those detained appear to have been of Pakistani nationality, and a Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that the three were being held, stating that they were not held in connection with the bomb attacks in London on 7 July last year.
