The Vanguard of University of South Alabama Stands Strong

Bangla Bhai

Three cheers to The Vanguard, the college paper of the University of South Alabama, for its refusal to apologize for publishing the Muhammad cartoons. The editor Jeff Poor is under continued pressure by the Muslim Student Association to apologize and to never to publish the images again since its decision to publish the cartoons on February 13, 2006. Stick to your guns, Vanguard. The chief reason the Muslim world is in a state of unending violence, chaos and failure is because of the blaspheme laws imposed based on Islamic tenets against criticizing the Prophet and by extension the Islamic faith. Reformers who seek improvement for their society have no voice because they are under constant harassment, jail and death for daring to criticize.

And beware of their insistence that you don't publish the cartoons again. It is a part of the Muslim mentality to think they have the right to exert control over what non-Muslims say and do, especially about their faith. Right now they're only asking you to apologize and stop because that's all they have the power to do. But later they will force you to comply with their wishes, as they do in every country where Muslims have to power to do so.
