Iran: Islamic Clerics Approve Of Use of Nuclear Weapons
In a disturbing move, a fatwa has been issued by Iran's senior hardline clerics, which approves of the use of nuclear weapons against its "enemies". As has become so evident from the pronouncements of Iran's insane leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the biggest perceived "enemies" of Islam are Jews, and the nation of Israel.
The Telegraph today reports that the fatwa was announced by Mohsen Gharavian. He is a follower of the arch-conservative cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah-Yazdi (pictured), the spiritual leader who gave his support to Ahmadinejad in July, helping him to secure the presidency. Mesbah-Yazdi is leader of the Haqqani seminary at the holy city of Qom, founded by the shadowy Hojjatieh Society.
As we reported earlier, Mesbah-Yazdi believes that to speed up the arrival of the "Muslim Messiah", Abul-Qassem, the 12th Imam or Mahdi, then firstly there must be chaos in the world. The drive to possess nuclear weaponry, combined with a fatwa condoning the use of nuclear weapons, is a signal that Iran's leadership seriously wishes to implement nuclear chaos, and probably will attempt to attack Israel to achieve this.
Mohsen Gharavian, who also lectures at the Haqqani seminary, stated: "for the first time that the use of nuclear weapons may not constitute a problem, according to Sharia....When the entire world is armed with nuclear weapons, it is permissible to use these weapons as a counter-measure. According to Sharia too, only the goal is important."
Ahmadinejad employs the services of a vigilante group, the Bassij to enforce his laws, and to instigate protests against Western embassies. Recently, bus drivers mounted a strike in Iran which is still in progress, and were treated to an unprecedented crackdown. Currently, more than 1,000 drivers are in jail. The leader of the bus driver's union, Massoud Osanlou, was taken from his home by members of the Bassij, and part of his tongue was cut out, as a warning to stay silent.
It appears, from the Telegraph article, that the US administration has been seeking from Congress the allocation of $75 million funds to support pro-democracy movements in Iran.
Plans are afoot to use internet and satellite TV to bring home to Iranians the message of democracy. But there are simultaneously plans being discussed in the Pentagon to blitz Iran's nuclear sites before the goal of creating nuclear weapons can be achieved. Such a two-pronged approach to the Iranian problem was previously not supported by the US State Department, but now it appears they approve of a two-track means of defusing the threat to democracy and peace posed by the insane Ahmadinejad.
