Kenya: One Dead In Muslim Cartoon Riots
A further example of the mob mentality of Muslims protesting against the publication in Denmark of cartoon images of Mohammed comes from SABC News.
In Nairobi, as thousands turned up to protest against their paedophile prophet being represented in graphic form, following exhortations at mosques during Friday prayers, banners were waved, stating "Islam is coming to Denmark". (Just about the same time as civilization leaves Kenya, I suppose).
The march went ahead peacefully at first, as the Muslims walked to the foreign affairs ministry, but became a violent riot when some protesters tried to get to the Danish Embassy.
Police opened fire at the rabble, and one protester was shot in the leg. A vehicle was "commandeered" by the mob, but this vehicle then overturned, crushing one protester on the spot.
To show that Islam is the "religion of peace", a white western couple was beaten up by the rioters, and needed the assistance of Muslim elders to be escorted away.
In South Africa, there were thousands of protesters in Durban at midday, following Friday Prayers. They gathered at Grey Street mosque and then went to the city hall.
In Pretoria, hundreds marched to the Danish Embassy building at Hatfield, and demanded an immediate apology from Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the prime minister.
More details on the Nairobi mob show that the protesters did not commandeer just one vehicle. The eaststandard states that two vehicles were hijacked, even though only one protester had been shot. There were so many protesters in one stolen vehicle, a pick-up truck, that it overturned on Waiyaki Way. As well as killing one protester, several others were injured when the stolen vehicle crashed.
I thought stealing was a crime in Islam? Why should two "westerners" be beaten up? Is this moral Muslim behaviour?
Perhaps one should remember that the second and third Caliphs were killed, with the latter Uthman, being killed by a Muslim lynch mob in 656 AD. Mob behaviour and violence have been Islam's handmaidens since the foundation of the faith.
