Sweden: Site Shut Down for Publishing Mohammad Cartoons
Stockholm Syndrome from Stockholm: Disgusting
According to Dagens Nyheter, the Swedish security services (Sapo), in collusion with Foreign Minister Leila Freivalds, have forced the website SD-Kuriren offline for publishing the Jyllands-Posten cartoons (SD-Kuriren is the house organ of the hard-right Swedish Democrats)."We think that this was the best decision after we were contacted by the Foreign Ministry and Sapo," Anna Larsson, vice president of hosting compant Levonline, told DN. Freivalds told DN that "it is terrible that a small group of extremists are exposing Swedes to danger [by reprinting the cartoons]."
First they came for the 'hard right' (I don't know whether that's true) Sweedish Democrats. How long before they come for everyone else?
This story may well related to this other one, also concerning the Swedish Democrats: Far-Right Swedish Party Publishes Mohammed Cartoons
Sweden's far right extremist party the Sweden Democrats have decided to publish cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed in their online newspaper.[...][...]The Foreign Minister added that this could endanger the lives of Swedish nationals abroad.
Dear Swedish Foreign Minister;
If you are afraid for the lives of Swedish nationals living abroad, get yourself an army capable of defending them.
Most sincerely;
