UK Muslims Prefer To Protest Against Cartoons Rather Than London Bombings
After the attack upon London Transport last year, when on July 7, four young Muslims casually murdered 52 people and maimed dozens more, there were a few token words of criticism by a few Muslim "leaders". But there were no mass demonstrations.
Following that event, the Blair government went into appeasement overdrive. The matronly MP, Hazel Blears was sent on a fact-finding campaign which obviously collected no facts, as she declared that "Islam is a religion of peace and love." The media carried stories of Muslims who were insulted and verbally abused after the 7/7 attacks, and Muslims were widely portrayed as "victims".
Now, the Muslim community leaders have exposed their total contempt for the lives of those people who died in Britain's capital on that dull July day. No mass protests against Muslim extremists, but the so-called "moderate" leaders say that they will gather 100,000 for a march through London to protest against the Danish cartoons.
Of course, cartoons are more important to these manipulators of the media than a mere 52 infidels being ripped apart. The organisers of a demonstration to be held on 18 February have said that 100,000 will attend from across the country. MAC, or Muslim Action Committee is a newly formed group which had a meeting in Birmingham.
The Telegraph and the BBC report on the meeting, in which calls were made for changes to the Race Relations Act and also the Press Commission Code, so that Muslims can prosecute or censor anyone who insults their faith.
Shaikh Faiz Saddiqi, previously a non-entity in the news, said the meeting, at which 300 religious leaders attended, was the biggest such gathering he had witnessed in the 25 years since he arrived as an immigrant.
He stated that the leaders agreed to try to have the law changed, so that Muslims were included as a "racial group", even though a religion is a religion, and not a race.
The MAC, the majority of whose members were not born in Britain, are arrogantly trying to change the host country's laws, to assign to themselves the same categorisation as Jews, the group which seems to be vilified by Islamic clerics more than any other group.
The demonstration on 18 February will be preceded by another demonstration this Saturday, the 11th February. This is being organised by the Muslim Association for Britain, which has previously published pro-Hamas and anti-Israeli propaganda on its website. The demonstration this weekend is supported by, among others, the Mayor of London, who also publicly eulogised Sheikh Qaradawi, even though the Qatari scholar supports the bombing of Israeli citizens and the murder of homosexuals.
This is their announcement:
Date: 11th February 2006. Time: 1pm - 5pm. Venue: Trafalgar Square, London. It is also supported by the Muslim Council for Britain, or MCB. The MCB's members such as Sir Iqbal Sacranie praised the fatwa against Salman Rushdie, saying that for the author "death is too good for him", praised Osama bin Laden as an Islamic scholar, and even tried to invite the terrorist into Britain.Public figures from across the political spectrum are expected to unite this Saturday at a rally against Islamophobia in Trafalgar Square. The action is taking place in the wake of the cartoon controversy.
United Message:The first message we want to send to the country is that of the legitimate voice of the Muslim community as opposed to those that hijacked last week's demonstration outside the Danish embassy. We are people of peace and are trying to do our best also in bridging the gap between Islam and the West.
Secondly, to Europe, the lesson from the cartoon is not that Western newspapers come under the fold of Islamic law. It is actually that orientalist and Islamophobic caricatures are unacceptable, irresponsible, and lead to a more polarised world. Jewish leaders and figures like Bill Clinton have likened it to the characterisation of Jews over the centuries. We know where that ended up.
Thirdly, to the Muslim world, we wish to send a message of calm. It may appear to them that there is a great Western conspiracy against their faith, but there are a large number of people who are on the side of reconciliation, and we hope that comes out loud and clear on Saturday.
Malawi-born Sacranie is a homophobe and an anti-semite, refusing to attend the Holocaust Memorial Day, but available last year to attend a memorial service for the founder of terrorist organisation Hamas, Sheikh Yassin.
Inayat Bunglawala, another senior leader of the MCB has previously praised Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, the blind mullah who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993 as "courageous". He has called bin Laden a "scholar" and called for people to support him.
Perhaps it is time that Britain took a leaf out of the Danes' book, and severed its links with Muslim leaders. Because these guys seem to care more about changing our laws to suit their own agendas than they do about the victims of 7/7.
