Indonesia: More Christians Attacked By Muslims in Poso
Poso in Central Sulawesi has seen various attacks against Christians. Three schoolgirls were beheaded and another critically injured by machete-wielding (suspected) Muslims on October 29, 2005, two 17-year old girls were shot at point blank range in the head on November 8, and later that month in Central Sulawesi, a teenage girl was shot dead in Palu, and another was killed with a machete blow to the neck.
These attacks, including a bomb attack in Poso on October 27, seemed to indicate a reemergence of the dark days of the previous Muslim/Chrisian sectarian conflict of 2000 to 2001, which saw 1,000 people killed in the island of Sulawesi. This was part of a wider war in the Moluccas, which killed 9,000 people between 1999 and 2002, mostly as a result of actions by Laskar Jihad.
On December 30, a nail-filled bomb killed six Christians, and injured 43 others in the southern region of the town of Palu, regional capital of Central Sulawesi.
Today's WorldNetDaily reports that two more Christians have again been attacked. "Santoso", a farmer and pastor at a village church, was attacked after holding a prayer session with Muslims on a farm outside Poso.
He was on a motorbike, as was his friend, when the attack happened, perpetrated by a Muslim who had been hiding in foliage. He swung to decapitate Santoso (pictured above), but missed and smashed out 10 teeth and injured his tongue. His friend had his fingers sliced off.
Santoso, who has been attacked twice before, was sent by medical staff from Voice of the Martyrs to Java where he was given tooth implants in a series of three operations.
Indonesia is currently trying to "re-educate" members of Laskar Jihad who instigated the Moluccan war, but its leader Jaffar Umar Thalib, responsible for thousands of killings, and forced circumcisions of around 2,000 men and women, was acquitted in 2003 of "sowing hatred" against Christians.

Hi Giraldus,
You know and I know that the Aisha - Mohammad boner cartoon wasn't among the orginals published in the Danish newspaper, and perhaps it would be better to clearly label it as a post-facto invention. I would like to consider myself a member of the Western Resistance, but not if it doesn't clearly take aim at the two other branches of the thoroughly rotten Tree of Abraham! There is nothing so heinously wrong in Islam that isn't also deeply embedded in Christianity and Judaism. The noose that choking Liberal Enlightenment clearly has three strands!

Secular Democrat;
First; the Mohammad/Aisha cartoon was labeled as an original; go back and read the entry without haste this time. (It is up to Giraldus to be more clear is he so chooses.)
Second; if you take aim at the other so-called rotten branches you are not a member of this Western Resistance. Christians and Jews are my brothers. There are plenty of websites out there that share your point of view, do talk to them.
Sincerly;

Hi -
I have since attempted to make it clearer that that cartoon was not from the Jyllands-Posten collection.
And please feel a part of the Western Resistance, but remember how Mohammed engaged in violence. Maybe some Abrahamic prophets also engaged in violence, but Jews and Christians, and the vast majority of Muslims are not violent.
And to our Christian and Jewish brethren and sistren, I would add atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, Zoroastrians, Sikhs, Pagans and moderate Muslims struggling to reconcile the good things in their faith with the actions of extremists, to those we support.
