Pakistan: Struggling Against the Marathon
Women... and men... running... together... Allahu Akbar! Islamic activists detained ahead of Lahore mixed-sex marathon
Islamabad, Jan. 28 (PTI): Pakistani police detained hundreds of Islamic activists threatening to disrupt a mixed-sex marathon in Lahore tomorrow on the grounds that it was "un-Islamic," as authorities beefed up security for the race.Thousands of police personnel have been deployed to ensure that the international marathon race planned by the Punjab Provincial Government goes ahead peacefully. The alliance of Islamic groups, Mutahida Majlis Ammal, (MMA) is opposing the race, saying Islam prohibits women from participating in such races.
While the police said 100 Islamic activists have been arrested, the MMA claimed that around 2000 of its activists have been detained over the past two days.
MMA leader Liaqat Baloc told reporters the police conducted raids on the houses of Jamaat-e-Islami workers and leaders in Lahore and arrested more than ten people today. A Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman said 500 people were arrested in Lahore alone.
Later on the (short) article, said Liaqat Baloc proclaims "the arrests cannot stop our struggle against the Marathon." Struggle against the Marathon. Amazing.

I just read an article about freedom of speech on this website. I saw a picture of a pig with prophet on it reading the holy quran. Freedom of speach is fine aslong as it doesnt effect anyones religion. That picture was upsetingly disturbing knowing that how forbiden pigs are in islam the prophet muhammad (p.b.u.h) is drawn as one. My comment is simply whoever created this picture is very disrespectful, inconsiderate, racist and a selfish person. It brings great anger on the drawing seeing such a picture openly displayed on a website. I think a lot of muslims worldwide would, after seeing this picture would feel the same and maybe would like to do something about it. I am very hurt to know that there are such people in the world that can be racist openly and get away with it. He/she should be ashamed with theirselves. This drawing is very dissapointing& if violence wasnt a crime thats the first thing i would use to resolve this anger.

Violence would be your first thing you would use, were it not for the illegality of violence.
That says so much about the "Muslim mindset", and why Islam is incompatible with the West in its current form.

Printing such pictures shows your tendency towards unreasonability and having no sense of fairness. I personally would never say or draw such things about prophet jesus or Moses as a bad christian or a bad jew is not their prophets' fault. Your respectable prophets may be a joke for you but please leave Muslims alone.
