Australia: Mark Steyn Blames Muslim Separatism For Beach Riots

Mark SteynIn today's UK Telegraph, Mark Steyn (pictured) discusses some of the underlying factors beneath the skewed reporting of the Australian beach riots, which reached a peak last Sunday (11th December).

One of the problems with the reporting is that it is described as the fault of "white racists", even though some of those with members of the gang the Bra Boys appeared to be Tongan.

Though I am taking records on Australia's problems, it is hard to write objectively when the sources are so contradictory and politically correct. News.com.au reported that:

...Police officers also found car stickers promoting the white supremacist movement in the men's car.

Two other men, travelling by bus to Sydney's Bondi Beach, were arrested carrying petrol bombs..

which gives the impression the bus passengers with petrol bombs were "white supremacists", until one reads the Sydney Morning Herald and finds out that the pair on the bus are called Amir Ali Osmanagic and Parham Esmailpour. Which is where Steyn's article is refreshing in its bluntness.

Though he does not exonerate white supremacists for their part in the Cronulla Beach riots, Steyn places the blame on a rarely-mentioned background factor, the refusal of Muslims to integrate. He mentions a gang of Lebanese Muslim rapists.

In Sydney in 2002, the leader of a group of Lebanese-Australian Muslim gang-rapists was sentenced to 55 years (halved on appeal).

The lads liked to tell the lucky lady that she was about to be "fucked Leb-style" and that she deserved it because she was an "Australian pig". It was the sentence that was "controversial". As Monroe Reimers wrote to the Sydney Morning Herald: "As terrible as the crime was, we must not confuse justice with revenge. Where has this hatred come from? How have we contributed to it? Perhaps it's time to take a good hard look at the racism by exclusion practised with such a vengeance by our community and cultural institutions."

Steyn mentions how one teenager is being advised by his parents, in a report from Monday's Australian to avoid venturing onto the beach. The report said that Eddy and Samira, the parents, had been in the country since 1972. Steyn notes that though Samira had thus been in the country since the age of nine, she still spoke to the Australian reporters in Arabic!

Most controversially, Steyn makes the following comment.

These days, whenever something goofy turns up on the news, chances are it involves a fellow called Mohammed. A plane flies into the World Trade Centre? Mohammed Atta. A gunman shoots up the El Al counter at Los Angeles airport? Hesham Mohamed Hedayet. A sniper starts killing petrol station customers around Washington, DC? John Allen Muhammed. A guy fatally stabs a Dutch movie director? Mohammed Bouyeri. A terrorist slaughters dozens in Bali? Noordin Mohamed. A gang-rapist in Sydney? Mohammed Skaf.

Maybe all these Mohammeds are victims of Australian white racists and American white racists and Dutch white racists and Balinese white racists and Beslan schoolgirl white racists....

I advise you to read the article in its entirety: Mark Steyn's: Racism is bad - so is self-delusion.
