Kuwait: Dispute Over Construction of New Churches
I usually do not repeat stories found in Jihad Watch or Dhimmi Watch as our audience knows about those sites; we prefer to look for new stories instead. In this case, however, I'll make an exception: Kuwait MP slams govt for allowing new churches
KUWAIT CITY — A Kuwaiti lawmaker yesterday slammed the government for providing Christians with two plots of land to build churches, saying this was against Islamic law."The recent measure of allowing non-Muslims to build places of worship in Kuwait is illegal under Islamic law," Waleed Al Tabtabai said in a statement after the government provided the land.
The thing is, Mr. Tabtabai is absolutely correct on his assessment. It is illegal to build new places of worship that are not Islamic (or to repair old ones) under Islamic law. The biggest problem is not the "minority of extremists" that "distorts" Islam, but that Islam itself, as proclaimed by Mohammad, is imperialistic, intolerant and violent to the core. There is simply no way of dancing around this fact.
