Denmark: Attacks on Islam Hinder Integration, Muslims Say
What's wrong with their argument? Attacking Islam Hinders Integration: Danish Muslims
COPENHAGEN, December 4, 2005 (IslamOnline.net) – Muslim activist blasted recent anti-Islam remarks by a Danish lawmaker, cautioning that recurrent attacks on their faith by politicians and some media hinder the minority's integration into society."The Muslim minority has for sometime been suffering from anti-Islam and anti-Muslim statements which send shockwaves through the minority," Qassim Saeed Ahmed, the media officer of the Copenhagen-based Scandinavian Wakf, told IslamOnline.net.
MP Martin Henriksen of the People's Party has recently described Islam as a "terror network," describing Muslims and their faith as enemies of the Western civilization.
"Such statements infuriate Muslims and stymie their integration into the Danish society," Ahmed said.
So, what's wrong with this story? An argument is only as strong as its premises. The article assumes the two following "facts":
1. Islam is not an anti-Western ideology.
2. Danish Muslims want to integrate into Danish society.
Both of those assumptions are wrong. Islam, as a matter of fact, is not only a religion, but a conquering credo which looks to destroy the West, as well as the rest of the world, often by violent means. Danish Muslims, as a matter of fact, do not want to integrate into Danish society, but wish to conquer it. The story is pure propaganda.
