Thailand: Mahathir bin Mohammad Begins Visit

MahathirbinMohammad.jpgSmooth-talking, Jew-hating former president of Malaysia Mahathir bin Mohammad will discuss the "Muslim issue" in southern Thailand with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. (The Muslim issue, as we should know by now but the press does not report and our intellectuals deny, consists of Muslims rebelling whenever they see an opening to grab power.) The foreign Ministries of Thailand and Malaysia are not giving our details about the visit, but we can safely guess it will involved Malaysia making demands, Indonesia (eventually) accepting some of them, and the the whole Thai society will go to sleep, thinking the "compromise" was definitive, not realizing it was only "Islamic Peace", or rather, "war to be resumed at a later date." But hey, who knows? Perhaps the Thai Government will surprise us.

Here is the story: Mahathir in Thai violence talks

Former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad is in Thailand for talks about an insurgency in the largely Muslim Thai south.

Increasing violence in the area, which borders Malaysia, has led to rising tensions between the two countries.

Thai security officials have accused Malaysia of failing to stop insurgents crossing the border into Thailand.

About 1,000 people have died in the southern Thai provinces since early 2004.
