Iran: Livingstone Praises Islamism (Again)

The insidious and appeasing Ken Livingstone recently invited the supporter of Palestinian suicide-bombers and advocate of the murdering of homosexuals, one Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi to the UK capital, and even compared this old fool who believes in witchcraft and black magic to the late Pope John XXIII. Once again, Livingstone is on attendance while the "positive" influences Islam is having in Britain are manufactured by its supporters and propagators.

And the UK "Islam Awareness Week", which has been ignored by most sensible media outlets, has been noticed in Iran, according to IRNA. Once again, as with all postings by the Islamic Republic News Agency, we will ignore copyright laws and post their article in its entirety, until they obey international law, or Hell freezes over - whichever comes first.

UK Islam Awareness Week

Past and Present: One thousand years of Islam in Britain' is the theme of this year's Islam Awareness Week (IAW),being launched at London's City Hall Monday.
"This year's theme will be a critical unearthing of our historical truths in order to carve a new public consciousness, one of commonality and inter-dependence," said IAW national coordinator Shafeeq Sadiq.
Sadiq said that the week, which has events across the UK, will tell the tale of Islam and Britain as never told before, of two people and of interchange, of dialogue, of political alliances and of friendships from across continents and cultures.
"Today's Britain would be very different without Islam," he said, adding that it was set to 'fly in the face of overtones that smack of conflict, hostility and eternal standoffs' by allowing history to speak for itself.
The launch was being attended by London Mayor Ken Livingstone, author and historian Professor Nabil Matar, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, Sir Iqbal Sacranie and president of the Islamic Society of Britain Munir Ahmed.
The week, which has been marked for the past 12 years in Britain in an attempt to foster a greater understanding of Islam, comes after the series of London bombing in July.
"We need to remember the positive spirit that embraced the nation, and especially the capital, after London won the Olympic bid. It is with such optimism and hope that we will defeat terrorism," said Sadiq.
"Amid all the negativity, our past actually shows a rich history of coexistence between Islam and the British Isles. We can choose to make the future," he said.

Once again the plain fact is overlooked that the spirit of euphoria after London won the Olympic bid lasted less than 24 hours before it was destroyed by the attacks upon London on 7/7, by followers of Islam. But Sadiq is right - Britain is a different place thanks to Islam. People now live in fear of further bomb attacks, and Muslims who are innocent of violence are now viewed with suspicion and mistrust.

But he is certainly wrong in assuming Islam had much influence on Britain 1000 years ago. A few crusaders may have brought back a few folk-stories about St George and the Dragon, and even a few little tent designs may have been brought back, and a few Arabic names for stars are still employed by astronomers, but little else.

The only major impact Islam has had on the general population of Britain is its creation of widespread anger at Islamic suicide bombing.
