Bosnia: Two More Islamist Terror Suspects Arrested
The China Post announces today that in Bosnia, two more suspects were arrested in Sarajevo. They are linked to the two other terror suspects who were detained in the Bosnian capital on October 19.
The pair were detained on Friday on suspicion of preparing terrorist activities. The information came from a police official, taking to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, as he was not officially allowed to reveal the information.
The state Council of Ministers confirmed the arrests, according to the Bosnian federation news agency.
The names of the two arrested in October are Cesur Abdulkadir, a Turkish national, and a Swedish citizen, Mirsad Bektasevic. A Bosnian court has authorised their detention for at least one month, states Edita Pejovic, spokesperson for the prosecutor's office.
The police searched two sites linked with Abdulkadir and Bektasevic, and found explosives, firearms and other military items.
Shortly after they were arrested, four young Muslims were detained in Copenhagen, followed by two more the following day. Another suspect was also detained in Denmark.
One of those detained in Denmark was originally from Bosnia, and according to the Copenhagen post last week, there appear to be links between these suspects in Denmark, and three men charged with terrorist offences in Britain on November 4, Waseem Mughal, Younis Tsouli and Tariq al-Daour.
