Europe: Internet Sites Urge Muslims To Copy French Riots
A report from adn Kronos states that various websites are urging Muslims in other European countries to follow the French example of rioting. The websites, which are normally used to disseminate Al Qaeda messages have been repeating the call for uprisings.
"Children of the Muslims in Europe copy your brothers, children of the Muslims in France", states one such exhortation in an Islamic Internet forum.
The website Tajdeed, which is in Arabic, and is popular with European Muslims, shows films of the rioting from Paris, and messages urging people to rise against the authorities.
"The children of the French Islamic community refuse to surrender and they continue the fight against the provocations of the police. Allah is great, he blesses you oh children of Islam in France, and the force is with Allah and his prophet." the site advises, telling Muslims to teach a lesson to the "dogs" (non-Muslims).
Another message from Tajdeed, which has a postal address in London, states: "Learn that we are one nation and if one of its members is attacked then the others revolt and the rage explodes like a volcano". The site is the first which announced responsibility for the London 7/7 bombings.
That such sites exist and are spreading such messages does not surprise me. What does surprise me is that Tajdeed, which even has a UK contact phone number on the site, which should be traceable, has not been shut down by the UK authorities.
The message, though now appearing while the French riots seem to be subsiding, and therefore can be considered "too late" to be effective, has nonetheless apparently been heeded in Belgium and Germany, as we reported yesterday.
