India: Islamist Suspected of Delhi Bombing is Held
A report from Bloomberg states that a man has been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian province of divided Kashmir. The individual, Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone, who lives in Chapneri village was taken by the Indian military following intelligence reports.
He made references to his involvement with the Delhi bomb blasts, which killed 59 people, according to D. K. Badola, an army spokesperson. Badola added that Lone disclosed information on others involved with the three attacks, which took place on October 29. Badola described as being an active terrorist since 2002.
Lone has been handed into the custody of the Indian police. He formerly belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen group before joining Lashkar -e-Taiba. These terrorist groups fight against Indian control of Kashmir, which they wish to be joined to Pakistan. There are more than two dozen different separatist groups fighting in Kashmir.
According to the Times of India, Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone was picked up from Ramban, a highway town on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Doda. His interrogations have been recorded to compare with future questinings, and now he is in the hands of Delhi police.

Earlier, a group called Islami Inquilab-e-Mahaz said it was responsible for the Delhi attacks. This group is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Its last major attack happened in 1999, when an Indian passenger plane was hijacked, in an attempt to have its leader, Zulfikar Ali Shah, released from prison in Hyderabad, Pakistan, according to OutlookIndia. The person who telephoned Srinigar police to tell them of the Islami Inquilab-e-Mahaz group gave his name as Abu Hanifa. Little is known of this man. Outlook India added that much of the financing of terror in Kashmir involves links with Britain.
Web India reported on November 6 that Lashkar-e-Taiba had been one of the first of several Kashmiri militant groups to condemn the Delhi attacks. Arabic news organisation aswaat also detailed the denial made by Lashkar-e-Taiba of involvement with the Delhi bombings.Lashkar-e-Taiba was involved with the 2000 armed assault on Delhi's 17th century Red Fort, for which 7 people were convicted on October 31.
