Australia: Shia Muslim Leader Faces The Boot
News today from Australia's News.com states that the Shia Cleric, Sheikh Mansour Leghaei (picured) will almost certainly be deported, after losing his federal court action challenging the ASIO's risk assessment.
The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation had decided he was a threat to national security, and alleged that he had been involved with "acts of foreign interference". This can mean spying upon, or intimidating dissidents, and secretly collecting information for a foreign government or agency.
Justice Madgwick told the Federal Court in Canberra, via a Sydney videolink, that he would defer giving the reasons for his refusing Mansour's application until a later date, which is expected to be in a fortnight. Some of the reasons will be in the public domain, but others will remain secret.
Mansour is on a temporary visa now while awaiting deportation. His lawyers have said he was not given a fair hearing and "natural justice" had not been followed by revoking his visa. The government's legal team countered that the ASIO dod not require Mr Leghaei to be told of the reasons for his being viewed as a national security risk.
Imam Sheikh Mansour Leghaei is the founder and the religious director of the Imam Husain Islamic Centre and the School of Islamic Theology in Earlwood, Sydney. The Imam Husain Islamic Centre currently has no announcements on its website regarding the cleric's legal situation. The Imam Husain Islamic centre aims to:
"revive the name and path of the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hf) and his Pure Family (pbut) through spreading the spiritual teachings of our profound faith - Islam amongst fellow Muslims and also non-Muslims. Through educating the general public about our faith we aim to be able to sponsor Islamic practice throughout the wider community."according to its website.
Leghaei was born in 1962 in Abadan, Iran and has a PhD in Islamic Theosophy from the University of Tehran. He migrated to Australia in early 1994, and is the father of four children. He has written books on mysticism and philosophy of religion.
In 2000 he won a Community Service Award from Australian MEFF Consortium Inc,, and on March 29, 2003 he spoke at the World Peace Forum which was held at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour.

Glad to hear Australia is waking up. These TaqiyyaMasters have been given a free ticket, courtesy of the naive infidels. Maybe a few of our elites are awakening from their deep slumber.

I agree John. I just wish the bozos in Britain's elite woke up and did something about our holy rabble-rousers and figures of mendacious piety.
